𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐈𝐧𝐯𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐇𝐨𝐨𝐝 (𝐆𝐨𝐭𝐠 𝐱 𝐦 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫)

𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐫 18: 𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐢𝐬 𝐢𝐭

ᴛʜʀᴇᴇ ᴡᴇᴇᴋꜱ ʟᴀᴛᴇʀ.

Donnie had now become slightly thinner (if that's even possible) due to lack of food. As he was waiting for stark and nebula to finish their stupid game, he was working on trying to draw the guardians in order to not forget them.

"Shit" donnie muttered as he erased peters eyes and tried to redraw them before getting interrupted by his own tears falling on the paper when he realized he had forgotten their eyes. "Donnie" nebula spoke in a serious tone as he slowly looked up at her standing in the doorway of his "room". "Come play" she said hesitantly as Donnie looked behind her to see stark, looking sympathetically at him before looking back at his game "no" Donnie's voice cracked.

Nebula breathed a loud sigh before closing the door as Donnie laid down and looked around his room, all of the things the guardians had stolen or made for him, the guitar that Peter had promised to teach him how to play, rockets old goggles before he upgraded to new ones, the flower groot's dad had given him, it was old a decaying now. Two books that drax had gave to him, "dinosaurs for dummies" and "how to swim for dummies".

A few "Radiohead" and "Frank Sinatra" posters gamora had found for him after she found out he liked them. Donnie felt like he had failed them. And not just them, nebula and stark too. When he was trying to help them restart the ship, he had accidentally short circuited it with some sort of lightning that came from his finger tips.

He hated himself and all of the stuff that was wrong with him.

His thoughts were interrupted by a bright light coming from where stark was propped up. "What-" Donnie said as he got cut off by realizing it was a woman "nebula?" Donnie asked as he got up and stood next to her "what's happening?" Donnie asked as he felt the ship move and be brought down, causing slight pressure to collapse on him, giving him a headache.

As the doors to the ship opened, nebula tried helping stark down before a man grabbed him and walked away "I couldn't stop him" stark said "neither could I" the other man said as Donnie slowly walked down the steps before sitting on the last one.

While looking down at his messed up converse, he saw a figure approaching him, but he was too tired to lift his head up before the figure sat down in between him and nebula. "Rocket" donnie whispered as rocket nodded and held nebulas hand first before softly holding Donnie's cold one.

"It's been 23 days since Thanos came to Earth." Rhodes said "world governments are in pieces. The parts that are still working...are trying to take a census and it looks like he did- he did exactly what he said he was gonna do. Thanos wiped out...50% of all living creatures" Natasha said as donnie sat in silence, ignoring the stares because of him being the only child in the room.

"Where is he now? Where?" Stark asked "we don't know. He just opened a portal and walked through" Steve said as stark sighed "what's wrong with him?" He asked, pointing to thor "oh, he's pissed. He thinks he failed" rocket said "because he did" donnie said as the adults passed around looks filled with shame "honestly, until this exact second, I thought you were a Build-A-Bear" stark said, pointing towards rocket

"maybe I am" rocket said "we've been hunting Thanos for three weeks now. Deep space scans...and satellites, and we got nothing. Tony you fought him" Steve said "who told you that?" Stark asked "I didn't fight him. No, he wiped my face with a planet, right after he broke that kids spine" he said, pointing to donnie

"...while the Bleecker Street magician gave away the store. That's what happened. There was no fight, cause he's not beatable" stark finished "did he give you any clues, any coordinates, anything?" Steve asked as stark sputtered childishly "I saw this coming a few years back. I had a vision. I didn't wanna believe it. Thought I was dreaming." He said "tony, im gonna need you to focus" Steve said "and I needed you" stark said

"as in, past tense, that trumps what you need. It's too late, buddy." He said as he sniffed "you know what I need? I need a shave" he said while knocking down stuff as donnie shook his head "and I believe I remember telling all youse-" stark said in a country accent

"tony, tony-" Rhodes said as stark ripped the iv out of his arm "...alive and otherwise, that what we needed was a suit of armor around the world. Remember that? Whether it impacted our precious freedoms or not. That's what we needed." Stark said

"well, that didn't work out, did it?" Steve asked "I said we'd lose. You said, "we'll do that together, too." And guess what, cap? We lost. And you weren't there. But that's what we do, right? Our best work after the fact? We're the "Avengers." We're the "Avengers", not the "Pre-vengers." Right?" Stark freaked out as Rhodes was holding him up right "okay. You made your point. Just sit down, okay? Just sit down" Rhodes said

"okay. No, no, here's my point. You know what? They're great, by the way. Uh- not him so much, can someone get that kid a  sandwich? But we need you. You're new blood. Bunch of tired old mules." Stark said while pointing to captain marvel "I got nothing for you, cap. I got no coordinates...no clues, no strategies, no options. Zero. Zip. Nada. No trust, liar" stark rambled before ripping off his "heart" and putting it in Steve's hand

"here, take this. You find him, you put that on...you hide." He said before dropping to the floor "tony!" Steve said as he tried helping him up but got fanned off instead "I'm fine. Let me-" stark said before he passed out

"Bruce gave him a sedative. He's gonna probably be out for the rest of the day." Rhodes said as he walked out of the room that tony was in "you guys take care of him...and I'll bring him a Xorrian elixir when I come back" captain marvel said as she began walking away "where are you going?" Steve asked "to kill Thanos." She said as Natasha and Steve shared looks

"Hey. You know, we usually work as a team here...and, uh, between you and I, morale's a little fragile" Natasha said "we realize up there is more your territory, but this is our fight, too" Steve said "you even know where he is?" Rhodes asked "I know people who might" captain marvel said

"Don't bother" nebula said as captain marvel turned around "I can tell you where Thanos is."
