The Prime Minister huffed, not realising that he had unconsciously been holding his breath.
"Well, Your Majesty... do you have any information about your beloved? A physical description? A portrait?" asked Alfen.
The emperor waved his hand and a servant rushed to his side, presenting the minister with a rolled-up sheet of paper.
Alfen grabbed the paper and unrolled it. Confusion and shock gripped him.
"Of course, in order to sign the treaty as equals, continued the demon, tucking one of his locks back behind his pointed ear, I would like to go to the capital of Cyneria. That will be possible, won't it?"
The underlying threat roused the Cynerian from his torpor, and he nodded in agreement.
"Marvellous!" exclaimed the Emperor before rising and leaving the table to the discomfited looks of the Cynerians.
He turned one last time, announcing to the Prime Minister:
"By the way, Messire Alfen, we leave tomorrow. I've always looked forward to visiting your country, but it's a shame it has to be in such terrible conditions".
With that, he left the Cynerian advisors.
The Prime Minister turned to one of the councillors and promptly ordered:
"Go back to the capital quickly and tell His Majesty the Emperor that the Emperor of the Demons is coming to the capital in the next few days to sign the peace treaty!"
This councillor nodded and set off at full speed, his robes fluttering behind him.
Alfen heaved a long sigh, returning his gaze to the portrait.
"I'm sure I've seen him somewhere before... But where?" he muttered to himself.
Meanwhile
Soliès laid his sleeping baby in the cradle. A rustling sound was heard and he turned his head towards the source of the noise.
"Oh Auteur! It's you, he sighed, reassured, you almost scared me! What's happened to you?"
"I... Soliès... I..."
The Cynerian tilted his head to one side, a confused and worried look on his face, not seeing the kaomojis appear beside her face as usual. He let his newborn continue sleeping and then moved closer to his friend, grabbing her hand and putting it in his own.
"You can tell me anything, you know? I won't judge you. I don't know what you've done, but you're my friend, Auteur, so what's wrong?"
Seeing her friend so worried about her, she didn't want to spoil his happiness, not wanting to become a burden to him.
"I just... I didn't know how to tell you... but..."
Soliès waited patiently for her sentence to fall.
"But... Did you know that your baby was incredibly plump? Soon, maybe he'll catch up with your weight! Although... (*゚ロ゚)"
The young man's face twisted in mock anger.
"No but oh!!! I won't allow you, you naughty girl! Go away! Come back and see me when you want to discuss something serious with me!"
He tried to hit her, but she avoided it and slipped out of his window, giggling.
"I'll have my revenge Soliès mouahahahaha!!!! ༼ᕗຈل͜ຈ༽ᕗ"
And with those words, she disappeared from the amused gaze of the Cynerian.
