The emperor rose suddenly, all the festivities being interrupted by the terrible news that had just followed.

"How? Who dares???" he roared, visibly annoyed to have been disturbed.

A frightened air took hold on Sade's face, unreassured by the turn of events.

General Tolis stood and jumped over the table, bowing to the emperor.

"Your Majesty, allow me to go and deal with the rebels, said the young man.

- Make it general, protect the exits too, close the doors and deploy the garrison!", the man ordered.

The emperor proceeded to the doors of the hall which had opened after Tolis had left. Most ministers left their seats to accompany the chief.

I was about to get up and follow the movement when Orias blocked my way.

"Not you Soliès, this... I doubt that you know how to fight, explained my husband gently so as not to hurt my feelings, I would prefer that you watch over my manio and my brother's main wife, Annya, please".

I looked at him, sighed at his pleading eyes, and nodded. He smiled tenderly at me when he saw my answer.

"Take care of yourself, come back alive, I begged.

- I promise you," he swore to me, putting a gentle kiss on my forehead.

And on these words, Orias ran to meet Zal, who passed a sword into his hands. The room emptied and only a few people remained, Fury having mysteriously vanished.

Too bad, my plan to get rid of Polters partly fell through. Now, we just had to survive then. I did not think, however, that he would take action so quickly. Perhaps he had foreseen it in advance?

Alfen came to position himself next to the Empress, who had been standing for some time, and suggested:

"Your majesty, please follow this humble Prime Minister to safety, and you, your highnesses Annya and Soliès."

We nodded, agreeing to walk in Alfen's footsteps, exiting through a backdoor.

"Your highnesses, your majesty, we will take you to your palace to shelter you from danger, whispered the Prime Minister to us as he took a sword out of his sheath.

Do it," Sadé replied very seriously.

We walked along the walls, crossing several gardens, hearing fighting sounds behind us, a gloomy and macabre decor, the sky having taken on the tint of the flames, a red blood. My heart clenched at the thought that something serious would happen to Orias.

"Watch out!" Alfen yelled loudly, pushing the Empress to the side in extremis.

Both fell on the ground in front of us, while at the same time I pulled Annya towards me, avoiding sharp daggers.

The Prime Minister rose very quickly, sword in hand, as hooded people left their hideouts, pillars, bushes or roofs.

"Assassins, what a jerk!" the young man spit vehemently.

They surrounded us, and one of them approached meticulously.

"Mr. Prime Minister, let us leave His majesty and His highnesses, and we will save your life, he tried to coax the one who had come closer.

- Of course! With pleasure, ironized the concerned, never!

- Please, Prime Minister, you are not one of our targets," the assassin tried one last time.
