Maclayne found herself yet again tied down by the ferocious world of forensics. Not even noticing the clock strike 5:30, she continued to bury her head in her work as everyone around her started making their final touches to their work and shutting down their cubicles.
She had a very bad habit of losing track of time when doing things she was very interested in - and she was VERY interested in her work. Maclayne was only snapped out of her trance-like state when the confident clanks of her best friend's boots lared throughout the glass walls.
The red-head lifted her head slightly as the clanks came to a stop right in front of her. There Phoenix was, smiling down at her in excitement. "Ready to go?" He questioned, once again beginning to help her pack her things up.
Maclayne lets out a tired chuckle, nodding her head as she takes her bag in her hands.
The two walk out of the office together engaging in a debate on which store they should go to first. "Well hoe, I don't care I'm going to Clo first and that's final" Maclayne popped her neck at her best friend, sending him into a rage of laughter.
The two curly-heads entered the mall, beginning their inevitable mess of a shopping trip. Clothes were flying up in the air left and right throughout the stores they went into. Eventually, they found themselves in Victoria's Secret.
"So like.. do you think a black or white thong would go with the cream pants?" Phoenix questioned holding up both thongs to his thin waist. Maclayne squinted her eyes trying to imagine what both would look like.
"Black. The white would clash with the cream." She replied. A fond smile spread over Phoenix's face as he put the white thong back. That smile quickly turned Into a devilish smirk as he laid his chocolate eyes on a lace lingerie panty set in Maclayne's size.
"Absolutely not." The girl protested from behind him. Laughing, Phoenix swiftly snatched the set away from her as she tried to grab it out of his hands. "You're getting this. NO PROTESTS!!"
The two best friends then settled themselves into Phoenix's G-Wagon, making their way back into the luxury hills and estates of his neighborhood. Maclayne finds herself chortling at the sight of her best friend throwing around all of the new clothes he had just bought.
"Okay, slow down, 'Nix." She spoke up, placing a soft hand on the back of his caramel palm. The firey red-head began to neatly fold all of the expensive items and place them neatly in the overpriced Louis Vuitton suitcase.
Swiping her soft palm over the mahogany leather, she sighed in victory as the two finished up packing their things.
"ugh, I don't know what I'd ever do without you, Laynie." Phoenix huffed dramatically, throwing his slender body across the obsidian silk sheets. Maclayne let out a chuckle, sprawling her body out overtop his, erupting a small sigh from the taller boy's lungs.
"We have to leave tomorrow around 9:00am. Our flight is at 11:30 am." The brunette spoke through the comforting silence, face buried in the cloud-like midnight comforter. Maclayne sighed as she disliked waking up early in the morning.
"I know I know you don't like waking up early but I promise, girl, it'll be so worth it." Phoenix spoke up once again, beginning to get excited at the thought of a week long vacation in his grandparent's homeland.
Yes, Phoenix had heritage. That's why he was so excited when he learned BackLash would happen in Puerto Rico. Not only would he be able to see some of his favorite wrestlers, but he'd get the chance to explore the place he'd only ever been able to hear in stories.
"Fucking around with you, I'll be it will be." Maclayne chuckled, nudging at her best friend's head, which was still partially sunken between his comforter and sheets. Phoenix chuckled innocently as he felt his best friend's fingers run up his scalp and through his mocha curls.
"And who knows...we might meet some men!" He popped his head up, painting his tongue over the front row of his pearly whites.
"Oh my god, PHOENIX!" Maclayne exclaimed. "You're always talking about some damn men!" She again playfully nudged her best friend's head. He giggled, reaching up and attempting to hit her back. Dodging his hit she bounces off his back, quickly pouncing back on top of his barely turned over body.
"BITCHHH" Phoenix exclaimed as he wrestled his best friend. The two had a fair fight, that is until Maclayne reached up through her ruby curls, taking a handful of his hair and pulling him down into the bed with her.
She pinned him on the bed, counting to three before hopping up and doing a generic wrestling celebration. Phoenix watched his best friend goof around in awe. He really did adore her. She was one of the only people who saw him as just Phoenix and not Felix Carlton's 'spoiled son.'
"You're childish." He chuckled at Maclayne as she stuck her tongue out at him tauntingly.
