THE NEWS HAD been going crazy ever since early in the morning in the small town of Woodsboro, California. The high school was standing as large as it had been since it was built, police cars parked outside as news reporters stood outside. No surprise to anyone, Gale Weathers had immediately been on the case about the two teenagers who had been murdered the night before.

Many eyes were on her, some holding sympathy and some holding curiosity. Some of the cameras had even panned to her in hopes of getting a good look at her face. She let her feet move herself along the sidewalk as she ventured further and further to school. Y/n Becker felt her hands gripping the straps of her backpack tightly till her knuckles turned white as she avoided everyone's eyes, a deep frown etched on her face.

Just the night before, her sister and her sister's boyfriend had been found gutted out on her home property. She had been at her friend's house studying when her parents arrived home to find their other daughter tied up to a tree with her insides piling out. Her boyfriend had been in the back, tied to a chair with a piece of tape over his mouth. It was clear that they had been murdered from the mess they had left, though the killer had been long gone when the parents found the bodies.

Y/n ignored their watchful eyes, even ignoring some of the calls from the reporters. Just a couple of minutes ago, she had been at the police station, answering some questions before she was sent off to school. She could tell that some of the gazes on her were full of suspicion, suspicious if she had been the one to kill her own sister. It was clear that there were times where Y/n Becker had always been jealous of Casey when it came to how many people liked her to how much her parents spent time with her.

The teenage girl was snapped out of her thoughts when an arm linked with her own, causing her to jump back and spin around. She felt relief fill her at the sight of her best friends standing there. Sidney Prescott gave her a small, sympathetic smile while Tatum Riley linked their arms together again. The three girls had known one another since they were quite young and had been inseparable ever since.

"Hey, Y/n/n. How are you feeling?" Sidney asks in a soft tone.

Y/n shrugs. "I'm alright, I guess. Just not sure if I wanna be here right now."

"People really can't keep their eyes to themselves, huh?" Tatum comments as she looks around at all the people looking at the Becker girl. "Don't worry, Y/n/n. We're right here if you need anything."

"Hope Gale Weathers doesn't get up all in my face." Y/n mumbles.

"If she does, I'll punch her for you." Sidney jokes, getting a little smile out of the girl. "Have you talked to Billy?"
