"So... Cat." Benedict stated as the brother's barber's set to work on their facial hair the morning after the Queen's diamond ball. "I don't know how I feel about that, brother."

All of London had heard of the Queen's choice of her new incomparable after a glowing review from Lady Whistledown, most ignored her thoughts against the diamond bar of course Eloise and Catherine herself, and then everyone knew of the Viscount's interest in the girl. Except, of course, Catherine herself.

"I thought you liked her very much, brother?" Anthony stated, brow furrowing as the shaving cream was applied and he heard a small sigh from Benedict.

"Of course I like her, who doesn't like her?" He said. "But do you like her?"

"What on earth do you mean? Of course i-"

"Because the thing is with our Cat is that she doesn't believe anyone will liken her more than one likes a governess." Benedict stated simply as he felt the razor come into contact with his cheek. "That bloody family of hers have that ingrained in her, she's the spinster and Cressida's the diamond."

"But Catherine's the diamond?" Anthony protested, his confusion only setting in further.

"Not in Cat's eyes, even if she doesn't say it." Benedict said with a little a shrug.

"How do you know all of this anyway?" Anthony demanded after a moment of consideration.

"Have you truly never listened in on our sister's sleepover's, Brother? There is nothing quite like it." Benedict asked, raising a brow as he turned so the barber could make a closer cut. "Oh and I actually talk to her."

"You are so very strange." Anthony muttered.

"But my point is that..." Benedict continued. "Cat is not someone to toy with, I rarely say it but the girl deserves the world and I know for a fact that the world for her, is a love match."

Anthony was silent at that. He had said time and time again that his marriage was not going to be a love match but one of business. Could he so easily change his ways for one girl?

"I don't know if I can provide that for her." Anthony stated simply, hearing his brother sigh at that.

"All I ask is that you don't lead her on with insinuations that you can provide that for her." He said. "Cat would never admit it, but she's terribly delicate and I don't know if this family could handle it to see her unhappy. Let alone the Queen herself!"

Catherine was reading in the drawing room of the Cowper house, believing she would have a relaxing day while suitors came after her older sister and she waited quietly in the corner until she would have a brief moment of respite from hearing thousands of compliments directed towards her sister.

"Don't ruin this for me." Cressida hissed as the maid set out some cakes and tea for the incoming suitors who were apparently all lined up outside in the hall.

"Ruin what?" Catherine asked dryly, merely turning a page in her book.

"Viscount Bridgerton wants to marry me, not you." Cressida stated. "The Queen must have gotten our names mixed up, she will rectify this mistake as soon as possible I'm sure."

Catherine merely hummed din acknowledgment but that seemed too only further irritate Cressida as she promptly stood and crossed the room to tear the book from Catherine's hand, forcing her too look up at her older sister.
