The cement slowly turned to a purple flame. With that flame, the Alpha Beowolves, who previously had been encased in it, burned to nothing but dust. Of the fiery village-turned-ruin bloodbath, she became the sole survivor.
"Miss Crimson, will you accept our invitation to you and enroll in Beacon High?" Ms. Glynda Goodwitch, the principal of said school, asked.
What could she do now? Find something valuable to her through the rubble? Walk through the forests and find another village or shelter? It's not like many obstacles would cause her any trouble; she could use this fire from the boy to get past any barriers. There wasn't much stopping her from leaving the place either: her family was dead, the village had already tried evacuate, unsuccessfully might she add, and it was unlikely she'd ever see her best friend again, assuming she wasn't dead, too. Not even the boy was there anymore, technically.
This was great news to the aspiring young student. She'd surely be with her adoptive sister, learn how to better control her semblance, and get a head start at reaching Beacon Academy, one of the four most prestigious combat schools for becoming a huntsman or huntress.
As much as she felt upset, confused, and overall horrible from the disastrous Grimm attack, she knew she couldn't just give up. Her mom wouldn't tell her to do that, and the young girl wouldn't allow that for herself. Especially not after the boy just gave up his own autonomous life for hers.
"Yes ma'am, I'd love to!" Jeane said in response, recollecting and thinking about everything she went through up to this point.
As she started to walk out the ruins, a rescue helicopter from Vale arrived. How late! What good will it do now? Not like it could rescue anyone else, and the girl knew she'd become an orphan and likely somebody's burden.
"Then it's settled. As of today, you are officially enrolled in Beacon High as well as its Huntress-in-Training Program as a junior." Ms. Goodwitch's composure seemed to have finally cracked with a distant, reminiscent smile. "Classes start on Monday. Please remember to be prompt and adequately prepared."
"There's a girl there!" A lady from the helicopter pointed out. "Hey, you! Are you alright? Are you hurt? Can you walk? Get her in here! To the nearest hospital, let's go!"
Ms. Goodwitch escorted Jeane outside to a small black car with two other people inside. Jeane still wore a smile, but internally, she was burning with hatred. She didn't even know why.
"Don't worry," the boy had told the girl. "I'll still watch over you and help you, like you helped me. I'll still be here... I trust you." The girl didn't understand anything about what he meant or how that'd be possible. As the helicopter rose, she last saw the ruined village entirely smoked in the purple flames, and a transparent maroon dome encased over where she'd last seen her best friend. It all suddenly disappeared as she went comatose.
