Surprisingly, Emily played off my "I love you" as nothing. She explained that no one had ever told her they loved her, and she didn't know how to react.
Maybe she had a damaged upbringing? Maybe her ex-partners were unkind to her?
I promised myself I'd never be that person.
Even though I'd slipped with my words, Emily and I managed. We saw each other at exactly 6.10 a.m. every Monday and Wednesday, then we continued seeing each other every Thursday at exactly 7 p.m.
Emily always found it odd that I noticed time insuch detail. She knew what she was getting into when she entered a relationshipwith a numbers person, though I did promise to keep statistics away from her.
