"So... what will you do?" Phairoh and Tai stare at me, my body still as I look through the rickety window of the abandoned apartment building.

The floorboards creak with every step and the paint was chipped on the walls. There were mice skidding about, running from hole to hole in the walls. Only spots of light come through, the windows boarded up to keep unwanted trespassers out. I stare down, into the street, right at my father,  stepping out from his car and going into the club.

It was still day out but this was his most prized possession. He always checks on his strip club. Mostly because it was one ting that would take him down had anybody look further down in. Downstairs that is. Into his brothel.

Tai found me, and with him, he entrusted Phairoh to look over me while he worked out the kinks of getting my grandparents out of Russia. Into the streets he calls home, they wait for me, in Shanghai but I don't see myself going there.

You know, I've tried so long to suppress in this in me, this... darkness. It makes me gag thinking about, saying that I have demons and for so long I've been fighting against them. Maybe I should just start embracing them. Concealing it didn't work, and maybe it's what I need, I think I'd like to test out the theory. I think I'll just start listening to the loudest voice.

I'm done running, and quite frankly I am sick of having everything I have ripped from me, people I love killed in cold lord because one ignorant and twisted man can't stand not having power.

Maybe power destroys... but power is also a crutch, there because it can help you. I have power, and maybe, just maybe, I should use it.

"Katiya" Tai says in low warning tone as my hand twitches on the skinny stick in my hand, a red button at the top that my thumb hovers over.

"You know, there was this story my grandmother told me about when I was a child. It was about a man, how he ruled his tribe without an ounce of mercy. He disposed of people like life had no purpose. The spirits didn't like that, all things, from humans to the lush land had life, the spirits believed that all aspects of the land had meaning." I glance down at the metal stick, "My grandmother said that he cause wars, simply because he loved the blood shed, he would watch the land bath in blood and seep into the earth... He killed his people because with his wars, he collected enemies like it was a hobby, and he was never content with what he had"

I glance over at Tai and he shakes his head at me, trying to appease me with a silent plea.

"There are innocent people in there-"

"No, there are only sinners, and those women laid beneath those sinners? Are women who want it to end, call it mercy-"

"It is not mercy Katiya. A mercy kill is not real mercy" His voice drifts to a whisper and I sigh, rolling my eyes at the boy, "There are other ways"

I hum and push the tattered curtain back into place. Covering the boarded window up so that I could look to Tai.

"What do you suppose I do Tai? He will bring more girls there? Don't you think id be saving them? Why wait when I have him right there? He can go with his precious brothel. It's called sacrifice for the greater good" Tai stares at me with a look of pure disgust. I know that feeling all too well, I feel disgusted in myself too, that's what Tai fails to see. What better time to catch him than when he's completely off guard. Tai doesn't see that.

Those girls, if they're not forced there, then they are willingly there. Those are the worst ones, because they come and go as they please and say nothing. Those women use their bodies and they do it because they enjoy it. How can one enjoy being used by men who force themselves upon others. I say burn it down, I'll start here and watch the flames take down building by build of my fathers. Until his business isn't impenetrable anymore. I'll make sure every person sees behind the rumors, the truth shall set them free.
