Chapter One : Izuku Midoriya

Thirty-nine years later and the small town is thriving. It has gone from a small settlement of five families to a booming cowtown with well over four hundred permanent residents.

The town Mighty River is a popular place to trade cattle nowadays. They produce the best cattle along the Yūei River. The cattle produced by this particular small town were always fat and well cared for, which meant a lot to people in the west and in the north. The beefy cows drew in lots of customers and therefore, lots of publicity.

Over the course of thirty—almost forty—years, Mighty River became a place on the map. There are always people coming and going and today is no different.

"Mama? Why are there so many cows?" A small girl asks curiously, turning her attention away from the fat long horns to her mother, who sits beside her in the carriage.

Even though it was her mother who she asked, the little girl's father answers. "Because this is a cowtown, sweetheart. You'll be seein' a lot of cows from now on." The older man says in a matter-of-fact tone.

The little girl, Y/n is her name, frowns at the thought. I don't like cows. She finds herself thinking when she sees a group of cows grazing on short, brown grass from behind a wire fence. She can smell them through the window of her family's carriage, and it isn't a very pleasant smell.

"But what about the railroad? How are you going to work on the railroad from all the way out here?" Y/n questions, her eyebrows furrowed.

Y/n father has been working on the railroad for years now. He oversees a lot of the construction that happens in the East so because of this, they move around a lot.

Y/n hasn't lived in a home for longer than five months at a time, so she isn't new to moving to random places, even if they are in the middle of nowhere. But never have they moved to a cowtown.

"Oh don't worry about that, sweetheart. I'll get it sorted." Is all her father says.

Y/n only hums. Cowtowns do need railroads don't they? She thinks to herself.

After twenty or so minutes of seeing nothing more than herds of cattle and small ranches, Y/n finally sees the buildings that make up Mighty River.

Mighty River is a fine town. Y/n decides. It's big enough to house a couple hundred people. As soon as you come down the lane that leads up to the town, you're met with a big hotel/saloon thing. It's on a corner and shaped oddly. To the left is a barber shop and to the right is a gun shop. More buildings frame the dirt road to the right, whereas on the left, there's a general store and a lean-to for horses. Further down though, past the general store, are more buildings.

There are people everywhere. Most are on horseback and they look more than rough. They look like they haven't slept in a decent bed in months.

Instead of making a right or a left, the man driving the carriage keeps the horses walking vertically. He proceeds to park the big wooden box in front of the big hotel.

Her father doesn't wait for the driver to open the door and does it himself, enthusiastically jumping down out of the carriage. He offers his hand to his wife to help her get down. And without the help of either of her parents, Y/n jumps out and onto the ground.
