I went down the stairs after fixing myself.

“Good morning, Maʼam Brielle!” The maids greeted me.

When I entered the kitchen, I found Manang Blenda preparing food on the dining table with other maids. Lumapit ako roon bago umupo sa isang silya at nangalumbaba as I watched them place the food on our long table.

“Sigurado ka na ba sa desisyon mo?” Manang Blenda asked while offering me the mug with coffee.

I nodded while accepting the hot coffee, I blew out of the steam before drinking it.

“Puwede ka naman pumili ng section na tuturuan mo,” she added while placing the dishes in front of me.

I told her yesterday about my first day of teaching in that academy. She already knew about the Section Gang because Brinley had told her about it.

“I wonʼt give up on them, manang. Iʼm not doing this for them... Iʼve been waiting for this opportunity because this is my dream.”

Nilapag ko ang mug sa table. Dinampot ko ang kubyertos at nagsimulang kumain.

When I was a kid, my dream was to become a teacher. Thatʼs why I study hard even though I experienced bullying from my fellow students. I ignore the negative things people say about me. I still didnʼt give up even though someone tried to pull me down.

But look at me now, this is the proof that they didnʼt succeed. No one can stop me. Despite many obstacles, my journey will not end there. Because I believe that one day my dream will come true. Even though I am not yet a licensed professional teacher, itʼs a great honor for me to be able to teach.

I look at her. “Donʼt worry, manang. I can handle myself,” paniniguro ko.

She shook her head in disbelief.

Damn it! I really donʼt like the way they treat me like a princess!

Napabuga ako ng hangin. I glanced at my black G-shock watch, itʼs already 7:30 in the morning!

“I have to go,” deklara ko sabay tayo.

“Mag-iingat ka, hija,” tagubilin niya sa akin.

I just nodded at her before leaving the kitchen.

“Magandang umaga, maʼam!” he greeted me enthusiastically.

We left the house together. When we got to the car, he open the backseat door for me. I folded my arms as the car started to run.
