It was eventually noon the next day, and Jane had brought her soulmate back down to the throne room where the three kings were awaiting her presence. Jane brought her in front of their thrones, holding onto Angie's hand as Aro dismissed some of the guards.

"Ah, Evangeline! How are you settling in with Jane?" questioned Aro.

"It is wonderful! I feel at home already." She smiled, Jane squeezed her hand at that and sent her one in return.

"I am pleased with that, it would truly be unfortunate if you were not happy with your soulmate. Now, onto the matters at hand," He clapped his hands together once, "I understand that you were turned by Carlisle Cullen and introduced to his so called 'vegetarian' diet, am I correct?"

"Yes, you're correct. I have never tasted the blood of a human in my three centuries." Evangeline admitted, unsure on how the three kings were to react to her statement.

"Oh my! That is quite impressive young Evangeline. Now you should understand that here at the Volturi it is against our rules to drink the blood of an animal. So you shall now have to obey our rules and drink the blood of humans."

"I understand, I would do anything to stay by Jane's side."

"Perfect! Ah, what love does to a person," Aro placed his hands upon his chest as Caius rolled his eyes at his brother whereas Marcus just looked fed up with his brother's antics, "Heidi brings us our dinner every Friday to feed upon to keep us sustained, you shall join us for our feast."

"Of course Aro."

"Wonderful! You are both dismissed." He laughed slightly.

Aro is fucking insane, Angie thought to herself as Jane led her back through the grand castle.

The rest of the afternoon had gone by quickly with Jane and Evangeline just walking around the majestic and ancient castle. Eventually as dusk fell, the two women resided in their room with the faint sound of classical music flowing once again from the gramophone.

Jane was sat reading on the loveseat whilst Angie was mindlessly lost in thought walking around the room in a daze as she twirled her hair subconsciously around her pointer finger. Somehow she ended up outside upon the balcony, the pleasant early evening air hitting her pale face. The sun set below the horizon, it emanated a warm, golden glow across the region's landscape. The honey-coloured glow basked the green rolling hills that ran for miles around, painting them with luxury. The air was filled with the gentle hum of crickets and the sweet scent of blooming wildflowers which were in the castle gardens below her.

Evangeline grabbed some spare blankets and pillows from a neatly organised cupboard, settling them outside to make a comfortable space for herself and hopefully Jane as well. By the time she was done, the sun was already gone, the silver moon replacing where it once was.

Jane had seen what Angie was doing, she curiously watched her as she hummed to herself with a a bundle of soft blankets and fluffy pillows scooped into her arms.

"Evangeline," the elder vampire spoke, "What are you doing, my love?"

If she could blush, Angie would be beet red.

"I'm making a place to stargaze. Would-" She hesitated, "Would you like to join me?"

Jane's face lit up in a small smile, one that only Evangeline could ever be the reason for.

They settled onto the assortment of plush pillows and blankets side by side, their hands a few inches apart.

Slowly but subtly, Jane shifted her hand to a distance where she could feel the coolness radiate off of Angie, their hands were now mere millimetres apart. Jane reached out her pinkie finger and intertwined it with her soulmate's; in turn, Angie contorted their hands so they were connected together. There was a buzz of warmth pulsating inside of her chest as she felt sparks where their marble-like skin made contact, both of them were smiling.

The sky was bright, with the Milky Way arching magnificently from one horizon to the other, as if nature had orchestrated a spectacular light display only for them. They returned to the skies, sketching constellations with their fingertips and telling stories about the myths and legends that surrounded them. Their link grew stronger with each passing minute as if the entire cosmos itself was conspiring to pull them closer together.

"Jane," Angie spoke, her voice soft and quiet, "Will you read to me?" She asked, hesitant to what her newly found soulmate would have to say to her request.

"Of course I will, honey." She sped off to go and grab the book she had been previously reading upon the loveseat

Jane commenced reading in the serene illumination of the stars and silver moonlight. Her velvety voice filled the late-night void, orchestrating a symphony of words and sentiments. While the soulmates were immersing themselves in the narrative, their gazes periodically met, sharing unspoken understanding and adoring looks. Evangeline's topaz eyes were filled with pure sentimentality for Jane.

They read dissertations about eternal love, murmured poetry that lit their hearts on fire, and laughed at stupid human figures. They would pause, look into each other's eyes, and reflect on the power of the words that had transported them to far-off locations and sparked their own passions.

Unknowingly to one another, that evening they had both realised the same thing.

They were in love.
