"Well since you're done with your short training session, can we borrow Eren?" you made sure to emphasize the word short. Maybe you were a sore loser? You and Levi had made a bet that whoever finishes their training session last got to clean stables later this evening. You were too busy on solo training you had completely forgot, not to mention Levi had woken up his squad early morning. You assumed they were still asleep given that you woke up your squad at seven in the morning.
Levi took a moment before responding.
Maybe I shouldn't have said short...
"I see... You're upset because you and your team have the stables today because you lost a bet," he slightly smirked. Your squad gasped and whispered among each other. You pinched the bridge of your nose, you hadn't told them yet...
"Eren come with us," you yelled. "I'll bring him back in a bit," you told Levi who clearly was satisfied with his victory.
Eren ran to catch up with your squad who walked off a bit further into the land where it was empty, no buildings, no houses, or solitary trees.
"Sorry guys, I forgot to tell you about the bet," you began before Ernst interrupted you. "Captain, you said you would stop involving us with your bets," he said kindly and respectfully. Everyone else agreed. "I know, I know. I'm sorry, but as an apology I'll give you all tomorrow off how does that sound?" you comprised. Everyone's eyes lightened and they all eagerly agreed to clean the stables for a day of freedom tomorrow. "I wish Captain Levi would give us a day off, our 'days off' consist of cleaning," Eren mumbled. "Join us Eren," your squad invited him, warmly welcoming him to their plans for tomorrow. "But I-" he began and looked over at you. "I'll tell Levi you're helping my squad tomorrow, don't worry," you shot him a smile. He smiled and looked at the floor thankful but embarrassed. He noticed your left hand without your wedding ring. Along with your squad, Levi's squad also knew about your marriage. In fact, they were present at the wedding.
"You aren't wearing your wedding band?" Eren asked, confusion written all over his face.
"Captain Smith doesn't wear it on her finger during training. She doesn't want to damage it," Emma explained.
"Captain Y/N," you corrected her, trying to hide your flustered expression.
"That's what we call her when it's just our squad. It's her little nickname," one of the girls told Eren.
"You can call her that too," Emma said with a sly smirk.
"To answer your question Eren. I don't wear my wedding band on my finger when we're training but I do wear it around my neck," you said pulling out the necklace that was tucked inside your shirt.
