ridiculous

moon jieun - wednesday

it had only been the next day after my first counseling session. of course i had already finished the entire book, all of it's cheesy, fake, romance glory. i had no clue why i needed to read it. it was the most unrealistic romance i'd ever read.

a boy fell in love with a girl, the author made him out to be the reason she stayed alive. the reason her heart continued to beat. i found that to be absolutely ridiculous. muttered scoffs escaping my lips as i re-read the last few pages walking to class for the day.

at least until the book nearly went flying out of my hands as i stumbled backwards upon being run into. i groan, rubbing my nose as it made contact with the persons back. the person turns around.

"you again? do you ever watch where you're going?" i spit upon seeing the boy from yesterday. jisung i think.

"maybe i wouldn't have ran into if you weren't face first into a book." he retorts, pointing to the book in my hands.

"do you only know how to walk backwards?" i snap back, recalling how he also backed into me the first time.

"of course not." he crosses his arms.

"so try walking like a normal person for once. maybe then you won't run into people." i cross my arms back at him.

"you're short." he suddenly says, making me furrow my eyebrows.

"so are you." i say, taking note of how he had a few inches on me, but not many.

"what's wrong with that?" he asks defensively. this kid is weird.

"um... nothing, you just said it first." i eye him weirdly.

"jisung, let's go- oh, it's you again." the boy called changbin suddenly joins the conversation.

"she ran into me again." jisung tells him.

"i ran into you? you're the one walking backwards like you have eyes on the back of your head." i retort.

"maybe i do." he shrugs.

"considering you've ran into me twice, i doubt it." i roll my eyes.

"okay, we have to get to class." changbin stops our bickering. "sorry..." he trails off, staring at me with an expectant look.

"what?" i furrow my brows at him.

"um... your name?" he asks, still staring at me.

"jieun." i tell him, looking away from his gaze.

"jieun. i'm changbin, this idiot is jisung." he says, ruffling the other boys hair.

"idiot?" jisung places his hand over his heart dramatically.

"cool." i reply blankly. "i'm going to class." i nod at the boys.

"see you around?" changbin asks, catching me off guard.

"um... i mean we've run into each other twice now. so probably." i really had no interest in purposefully meeting up with anyone, i just didn't care enough for that.
