Chapter 23

Nini's pov:
I wake up to see a bright light and wires attached to me. I hear beeping sounds. I realize I'm in a hospital.

"Oh my gosh! Doctors, she woke up!" I heard a familiar voice yell.

I turn my head to see it was Ricky.
Immediately a doctor and a nurse rushed in, and started to examine me.

"W-What happened?" I asked.
"You collapsed during rehearsals, and we couldn't wake you up." Ricky told me.
"Yes, and it seems that your body got weak because of lack of nutrition, which probably caused the collapse." The doctor said.
"Don't worry, we see this all the time in teenagers, especially young women like yourself. You should be okay and free to go home after we run some tests. But we suggest you go to therapy, to deal with your eating disorder." The nurse said.
"Thank you Dr. Edward and nurse Ellie" Ricky said as they left.
"So, how are you feeling?" Ricky asked me.
"Ok I guess." I told him.
"You don't know how relieved I am you finally woke up" he chuckled.
"How long was I unconscious?" I asked.
"A day." He replied.
"Oh. Um how long have you been here?" I asked.
"I came here after rehearsals ended." He admitted.
"Oh wow." I replied, not really knowing what to say.
"Why are you starving yourself again Nini?" He asked all of a sudden.
"I um" I started.
"Is it because of me? I also saw the cuts on your wrist when I was checking your heartbeat. Is that because of me as well?" He asked, his voice slightly breaking.
"What? No! Of course not!" I replied.
"Then why?" He asked.
"I-I dunno." I said. "I guess when I saw you with Lily, I just kinda got insecure, since Lily was so pretty. And I don't really know why I cut myself. I just sort of do it to distract myself I guess? I don't know if I'm making sense right now."

Suddenly, Ricky hugged me.

"I'm so sorry." He said slightly tearing up, "I didn't mean it when I yelled at you. I'm sorry for what I put you through."
"What? I told you it's not your fault." I said.
"I don't care whose fault it is anymore. I'm just so glad you're ok." He said, "you know you can talk to me right? About anything, anytime."
"Yeah. Same here." I said.
"If you ever get the urge to hurt yourself, please talk to me." He told me.
"I will. I'm sorry I scared you." I replied.
"It's ok. You're ok." He said.
