"I understood nothing. Nothing at all." Frustration was evident in Prem's voice.
"If you didn't understand anything, then don't understand. The only thing you need to keep in your mind is that you were never involved in all the things that happened earlier. You were here being worried about your friend who was hospitalized. Am I clear?"
From Fluke's tone and body language, Prem could clearly read that the smaller one wasn't in the mood to explain everything.
"But I..."
"Prem, if you have to be tensed about anything. That should be about the upcoming selection that is going to happen next month. Even though you don't have any injuries in the visible parts, I am sure that you got hit a few times today. Don't forget to put medicine on those bruises. I don't want to hear you using them as an excuse for skipping training."
Without another word, Fluke climbed the stairs and went to his room. Prem swallowed his questions and went to take a bath.
As he often stayed over, he had his clothes in the wardrobe. He picked out a tank t-shirt and shorts and headed inside the bathroom.
"You did take a luxurious bath," Fluke commented sarcastically sitting on the revolving chair visibly waiting for him.
Prem didn't say anything. He had indeed taken a long bath. He bit his lips and continued to dry his hair with a towel.
"Give me those," Fluke said referring to the clothes Prem was wearing earlier. He wordlessly handed them over to Fluke.
"What are you going to do with them?" Prem questioned as he hurriedly followed Fluke.
"Burn them of course," Fluke answered with an obvious shrug.
Prem watched as Fluke made his way to the backyard with the clothes.
The doorbell rang causing the duo to pause. Fluke looked at his phone and said "Our food is here. Go get it."
Prem nodded and received the delivery. He placed the parcel on the dining table and headed to the backyard to see what Fluke was doing. He saw Fluke throwing the clothes they wore earlier into the pit along with the shirt of the senior that Fluke had used to wipe his hands of the senior's blood.
"What is that?" Prem looked at the bottle Fluke was holding.
"Petrol." Fluke poured the content of the bottle on the clothes in the pit and closed the bottle, putting it away. He then lit up a matchstick and threw it at the pit, causing it to catch fire quickly.
Thankfully, the house was in an isolated area and most of the neighbouring houses were empty. Or else the fire would have definitely caught the attention of others.
"You even bought petrol?"
"No, I drained it from the car."
Prem's face cringed when the smell of blood burning spread around. The duo stood there until the whole thing turned into nothing more than ashes. Fluke didn't want to leave any traces.
"Let's go inside. We have a lot of things to do tonight." Fluke said nonchalantly, wrapping his hands over Prem's shoulders. But Prem didn't miss the dangerous glint that passed through his friend's eyes.
"I don't think I can fall asleep tonight," Prem said looking at his best friend who was acting like a complete stranger.
"Then, why don't you accompany me tonight?" Fluke spared a glance at the taller teenager.
