Mirror

Author's note: Sometimes these guys have a mind of their own and there is nothing I can do to stop it.

Also, this takes place after WotfI 2022

X stared at his reflection.

He really didn't know how to feel about it.

For as long as he could remember, when he looked in the mirror, he saw a Mario recolor looking back at him. But now, that was no longer the case.

His hair had fluffed up so much, that wearing his cap was uncomfortable. There were noticeable bags under his eyes from the stress of Four being sued by Nintendo. 

X stood by the standing mirror in his room, staring at the stranger looking back at him.

Fm was humming a tune to himself when he entered the room. He looked over to his boyfriend looking so distraught at his own reflection. Fm closed the door behind him.

"X?" The blonde gently walked up next to him, wondering what was going on. "What's wrong?"

"I- I really just don't know." X admitted. "I guess I'm not used to the new look."

 Fm titled his head, he was sort of glad that he looked like his own person then looking like Mario. It never occurred to him that X would feel different about.

"Fm, am I ugly?" X asked out of the blue. He looked like he was about to cry.

"What!?! Where did this come from?" Fm was shocked that his boyfriend could think so lowly of himself.

"I don't know." X looked down, rubbing his arm. "I guess I so used to looking like Mario, that this is really throwing me off."

"X, can I?" Fm put his hand out. X nodded and Fm cupped his face. Making X blush a bit. 

"I'll admit I found it shocking too, to no longer looking like Mario."  Fm's voice was gentle. "But when I saw you for the first time like this. You looked so handsome."

X's face went red. Fm had his own face blushing now. 

"Thanks hon, you look handsome too." X managed to get out without stuttering. 

Fm chuckled and began peppering kisses on to X's face. X giggled.

Yeah, he really needed this.
