You woke to the sun and a small note on your bedside table. The handwriting was messy but there was a small heart drawn on the corner of the letter. It read:
"To y/n,
You were the soulmate I have been looking for. The one who made me feel whole the second I stepped into the dining room and saw you. Nat and Thor explained more to me, I'm sorry for my actions. I didn't know that you didn't remember anything. You seem like a person who wants to be good, even if your past was not.
I hope you accept my apology <3
Sincerely, Clint"
The paper crinkles beneath your fingertips as you contemplate his words. He seemed genuine, but you weren't sure what the emotion was behind his first few lines. It was too cheesy.
You remembered the voice in your mind from last night, the awful words it spoke. You covered your mouth with your hand and shut your eyes tight trying to get rid of the memory. Your left arm stung as you felt a sense of people being worried towards you. Your hands trembled as you felt the hot, wet tears slide down your cheeks and nose. You watched the crystallization of them on your hands as you furiously wiped your cheeks and the surface they should've splotched.
You heard a small shuffle and looked up immediately. A green mist appeared in your room before Loki stood there. "What's wrong, darling?" he asked worriedly.
You didn't want him to see you crying.
"Go away," you told him. Crying only showed weakness, you had done enough of that yesterday.
