School Days

MAIA'S POV

School. The seven crappy hours of our life. It says it all but when you have good friends it makes it 100x better. I was told to give Maddie a ride to school since we would be in the same school for the same amount of time which sucked but all I've got to do is turn the music up and drive without looking or talking to her. My friends Jess and Sabrina were the light to my days. They made class less boring and they were always there for me and it sucks that this summer I couldn't spend it with them because they were both off to different places but we reunited yesterday. I told them how my summer went and they couldn't believe that I had a half sister. It was crazy.

"Maia!!" Jess and Sabrina yelled and running to me as I parked
"Hey what's wrong" I said looking at them confused
"You mean whats right, okay we were walking here and this guy comes inside the office saying he's new and we turn around to see him and he's hot! And I mean Hot!" Jess tells me
"Really well you guys know I have a boyfriend so how would this interest me" I laugh
"Maia if you saw his face you would understand why we are telling you" Sabrina pats me
"Okay well he probably won't be in our classes" as we walk to our 1st period class he's there sitting. I just had to jinx it! He wasn't bad looking but I can't look at him that way.

"Uh hi I'm Shane" the new guy said as we sat on our seats
"Hi Shane I'm Jess and this is Sabrina and Maia" Jess flirted
"Where are you from?" I asked
"I'm from Washington" he smiled
"Cool" Jess kept drooling over him
"Sit down class" Mrs. Winford walked into the class

As the school day came to an end Shane became part of our squad because Jess invited him to our group.

I gave Jess a ride and all she could talk about was the new guy. There was no other subject she wanted to hear about but him.

"I don't want to get in the middle of this but goodness can you stop" Maddie interrupted
"Yes finally Jess he'll be your boyfriend someday" I said
"You're agreeing with her?!" Jess laughs hysterically.
"Okay calm down you're here" I stop at her house
"Thanks bae number 2" Jess gets out of the car
"Who's first"
"Shane of course" she winked

"Your friend is weird but funny" Maddie says
"I know she's like that" I say driving home.

It's been a long time since we actually talked without arguing.

I came home and ran upstairs as quickly as I could.

"Maia where are you going?" My mom yelled from downstairs
"I need to talk to the Lynchs mom" I yelled
"Hurry I need your help" she said
"Okay okay" I slowly said concentrating on my computer to Skype Ross.

"Maia! Thank goodness you called me guess what!!" He looked excited
"What?" I asked
"The record labels loved us! They were clapping when we finished some songs and they said they would call us soon. Charles is also our new manager. He put us in a performing arts class so we wouldn't get bored but New York is amazing so yeah how's school!" Ross pulled his hair back
"That's amazing Ross! And schools good" I smiled
"Great but I'm missing you a lot" he pouts
"I am too! It's been boring without you like I have to actually have to do homework now" I shrug
"Oh same! Charles is giving me online school so I could graduate faster so yeah I'm a busy person as well. So have you decided which school you want to attend after?" He asked
"Well I've kept one in mind but I should start too because soon I've too apply and hopefully get into one" I say
"Trust me if they don't accept you then they are missing out on a lot. I'll go talk to the main people if it takes that much" he points
"Okay Mr. Lynch I'll give you a call on that" I giggled
"You're amazing you'll get into them trust me aussie" he winks
"Thanks Shor!" I blush
"Ayy it's your aussie what's up Maia!" Rocky waves
"Ayy Rocky what's up" I smile
"What's up" he gets in the conversation and then soon everyone comes in and we all talk for a good hour

"Maia come on I've been calling you for the past hour hurry up please" my mom scolds

"I've got to go I'm sorry. Bye Shor bye guys oh and Rydel when you get the chance call me" I say goodbye
"I will call you tomorrow during class haha no I'm kidding but I will bye best friend" she says
"Love you best friend" I laugh

I run downstairs and go outside where my mom was at. She was gardening outside and putting new plants.

"Uh Maia I want to start getting on your good side and I didn't mean being a bitch it's just I was mad"
Maddie tells me as a look to see what my mom needs
"Uhm well you were a bitch but I mean I guess I was too. You aren't on Rydel's good side though. And Rydel is like my sister"
I pause. Rydel isn't even my sister but I call her my sister and Maddie is actually my sister but I don't call her one. I mean it wouldn't hurt talking to her but she should start being less bitchy.
"Well how would I apologize to Rydel I don't even know where they are. Wait why did they leave?" She asked
"Uhm they left to New York hoping to get signed to Emblem Records and so far they are doing great" I said
"You and Ross are a thing huh I don't really care but are you" Maddie looks at me
"Yeah we are. Too many questions for one day now I've got to go see what my mom need before I get kicked out again" I go over to my mom and help her.

The next few weeks we daily talks to Ross and Rydel and talking to them about school life and they explained how the music life was going for them and how they got signed. The minute they told me I jumped and screamed for them. Charlie came running to my room asking if I found a spider in my room again or something. Ross busted laughing when that happened and I was quite embarrassed but I didn't care it was Ross and he always complimented my laughs and screams.

But what I really like is how he always starts with a smile when we chat on the computer and saying how pretty I am when I'm just with buns and sweats. Although he might not be here with me he's always there for me.
