The sun sets slowly over the horizon and the sky turns a pastel orange.

I heard Maria's little footsteps patter to her bedroom and heard the door shut softly.

Ludwig looked down at me and smirked softly, setting hands on my hips.

I looked up at him and blushed, seeing his blue eyes sparkling.

He picks me up carefully and brings me to bed, setting me down and hovering over me.
He kissed me softly and I felt both of our faces get hot.

He pulls away and pants softly, his hot breath chilling my body.

Ludwig sets a hand softly on my cheek and kisses me again, more passionately, and with meaning.

When our lips connected I felt sparks fly, I felt the buzzing in my chest and the fluttering in my stomach.

My brain was clouded and I could only focus on what was in front of me.
Only him. Nothing else mattered at the moment. It was only me and him, hopeless lovers showing affection in the dark.

He bit my bottom lip as things got more heated and I yawned softly, making him chuckle and look down at me smiling.

"Tired?"

I nod. It's been a long day. Way too long.

Ludwig nods and lays beside me, pulling me into an embrace.

"I love you." He whispers softly, sending my heart thumping like a drums beat.

"I love you too Ludwig." Finally.

Finally finally finally.

I got to show my true affection towards him.

Yes.

I close my eyes and smile, adrenaline rushing through my body.

I awoke the next morning, and looked over at my sleeping lovers face.

It was adorable.

I laugh softly and got out of bed, going downstairs.

Maria runs up to me and hugs my legs, smiling brightly.
"Hi dad!"

I pick her up and squeeze her, while I do, Ludwig comes downstairs, looking terrible.

He coughed and his blue eyes were dull, and they had dark circles under the eye.

His skin was pale and white, like a ghost and his lips were purple.

He coughed and sat at the table, trying to hide that he was sick.

I shook my head and put Maria down, walking over to Ludwig, and speaking worriedly.
"Ludwig- what's wrong?"

"I'm just..not feeling so hot..."

I shake my head and put a hand on his cheek, sighing softly.
"Luddy.." "I need to- find out wh-"

Ludwig puts his palm out to me, silencing me. "Nein. It's fine."

I sniffle and grab one of his hands as he coughs again and slouches in the chair.

"Ludwi-"

"NEIN." He slams a fist on the table and the coughs, falling out of the chair.

I panicked and ran to him, shaking him. "LUDWIG?! LUDWIG-" I choke out his name and tears spill out of my eyes.

Maria stands there, traumatized. She had no idea what to do.

I shake Ludwig again and again and all I see is his color draining quickly. I shake my head frantically and scream. "LUDWIG?!"

Ludwig looks at me, his blue eyes dulling over. ".....Good..by-e."

"What- what?!" "No!"

He takes his last breath and his smile slowly fades off his face into a resting frown.

A frown that I realized would be there forever.

"Ludwig..?" I feel his pulse. Nothing. He's gone from my fingertips once again.

Gone..

I cough and cry again, as Maria pads over, hugging me.
