~Death's P.O.V~
Though I may not have meant to, I chose to lie. "I've been working with demons for a long, long, long time," I lied, "my father is an exorcist, my mother is a-" I stopped myself, "a stay at home mom..." Yukio looked me over with an unsure expression, his gun still pointed at my head. I couldn't help but back up a bit, the way his gun was pointed made me uncomfortable... Wait... Did I hear a click? I adjusted my position so I was slightly to the right of his gunpoint, just enough for me to see what he was doing, but not enough for him to notice without looking at my feet. Yes! I knew I heard a click! He clicked back that little thingy on the back... whatever that thing is.. I stopped breathing and froze remembering what the thing does... It puts a bullet in it.. I could sense the tension between us. Each drop of sweat, every slight movement. Though, it was silent. I looked over for a moment, Rin seemed extremely clueless of our situation and he also seemed to buy the lie, for he was a lot less tense than Yukio and had sat back down. "How did you know that we were demons? I understand that you've worked with demons for a while, but really," Yukio asked again. I shrugged, "Just... Pointy ears, pointy teeth... No human being has those, unless they're implants," I replied back a bit too smartly. He growled under his breath and pushed the little thing back in, "Alright.. Fine..." My hands fell back down as I began breathing normally again. "Everybody else already knows... We just didn't want anyone else finding out.." Rin explained, then put his head down and rubbed his neck nervously. I sat back down slowly, "I understand.. Security reasons... Don't want people getting afraid and running away, leaving you all alone.." memories flooded in of people screaming at me, telling me to 'Get away!' and calling me names.. "Erm- Well, I guess?" Rin said unsure. I snapped back and giggled nervously scratching my arm, "Well, that's what my dad said happened to his friend who was good friends with demons, he practically acted like one.." "Oh.." he put his head up again, "okay.." An awkward silence spread over the room, along with an eerie feeling of anger, sadness, and a bit of tension. "Sooo..." I cleared my throat, "What now?" The tension wasn't gone, and I hadn't completely recovered from the ordeal, but I was trying. Yukio stood up and picked up his case as well as the pictures, "I need to go report to the investigators that we now know what did it," he then continued to the door. I turned around quickly, "Are you still gonna think about it?" I gave a closed-mouth smile. He pushed his glasses up again and opened the door, "Perhaps," and with that he left, shutting the door behind him. I stood up and picked up the bowl, "Thanks for cooking, Rin!" he gave me a goofy smile then picked up his bowl and copied me, we both walked into the kitchen and set our bowls in the sink to be washed. "So where are you staying? Or... are you just staying at your house?" Rin asked while putting away everything he had gotten out. "Oh.." I leaned against a wall, "I'm staying in this dorm." "Oh.. How come?" Rin looked at me confused. "Err... The girl's dorm was full.." my face turned slightly red at the lie, scared he would catch me. "Hmm... Must have a lot of girls this year!" he laughed. A small sigh escaped my lips then I too started to laugh, "Heh, yeah.." I turned to leave the kitchen but bumped into Rin's side as he was leaving as well, "S-Sorry!" I quickly regained balance and looked at him blushing, "I'm clumsy... Sorry.." Rin laughed again and scratched his hair, "That's okay! It was my fault, I'm sorry." I shook my head, perhaps this won't be so bad. "Don't you ever smile?" he laughed again and looked me in the eye. "O-Of course I do," I nervously put my head down a bit. "Do I make you sad or uncomfortable?" he sounded scared when he said it. "No! Of course not!" I looked up and smiled at him... oh wait... crap! My fangs! I quickly covered my mouth and looked at him blushing brighter. He seemed surprised.. Oh no...
