CHAPTER 14: MEMORIES OF HARDSHIPS AND TALES OF SNOWFLAKES.

Start from the beginning

Even in my thoughts, I didn't dare utter the last bit of that sentence. I forbid myself from saying such a ridiculous thing.

I am too powerful to be knocked down so easily, let alone permanently.

Like an uninvited guest, the thought of those three awakened ones marched through the gates of my mind and dwelled.

I didn't think all three of them would...!

I grit my teeth. Must've been fun trying to take me out the dirty way, huh?

Just wait till I'm rebound. Once I'm back, I'm going to make you grovel beneath my feet!

The thought might've been amusing if it weren't for how angry I was right now.

Due to their dirty little trick, I'm hardly able to use my awakened core!

Yet another elongated sigh escaped my lips.

No use getting riled up at 2 in the morning.

With one bitter tongue click, I rolled my eyes and stared out the window.

Just more snowfall...

Looking at the snow in Korea was different from the snow in America, somehow.

Granted, I spent the majority of my life until now in America, so I could've just been mildly homesick. But something about the grit of this snow was different.

Snow is snow, of course. But like I said. It was somehow different.

I stood to my paws, leaping down clumsily from the couch and strolling to the window where the three cats usually came in through.

It was closed now since it was nighttime, but it didn't stop me from trying to get it open.

These stupid paws... I curled my lip up in disdain as I hacked my way at the lock.

I finally managed to open the bottom latch and began pawing at the upper lock.

It came free, and I smiled, pleased with myself.

I nudged the window open. It croaked. I peered around the counter, glancing at Jiwoo to see if she was disturbed by the noise.

Seeing how she wasn't fazed, I nudged the window wider and slipped through the wedge.

A gust of frigid night air brushed past my fur, and I shrugged my shoulders from the sudden cold.

It was refreshing.

Noticing the now unoccupied flower bed roughly two feet below the window, I leaped down the flower bed, and then to the snow-covered ground.

Trudging aimlessly through the snow around Jiwoo's house, I decided to explore a little bit.

The night was dark and dim, and the sky was painted with dark grey clouds, allowing very little moonlight to seep through its thick veil.

Dormant trees and juniper-colored evergreens slept beside the motionless road. A few bushes dwelled by the corners of each and every house in sight, with occasional warm yellow door-side lights.

Brightening the terrain by little were the lamp posts and decorative fairy lights.

From the road laid an unbothered layer of snow that began to cover the street guidelines and pile on top of stop signs.
