Chapter Thirty Five.

Nick:
To say I'm proud of Charlie is an understatement. The way he has handled everything that's been happening in his life these past couple of months have been inspiring. I can't even imagine what I would have done if I were in his shoes. I'm so happy that he's happiest because quite honestly, I am the happiest I have ever been. Being with Charlie is the easiest thing I have ever felt in my life. I finish getting ready and go downstairs.

"Mum, I know you were thinking about inviting Charlie's family over for Thanksgiving but he beat me to it and wanted to know if you and I wanted to go over to his house. Is that okay?"

Mum smiles softly at me.

"Of course it's okay, Nicky. Seems like you and Charlie are getting pretty serious."

I feel my cheeks turning red and smile.

"I know it's only been a couple of months, but I'm crazy about him."

She smiles at me again.

"I can tell. I really like him. I think you two are a good fit."
"Yeah?"

She nods her head.

"When you were with Tyler, I liked him, but I was always worried that he was going to break your heart. I don't get that feeling when I see you and Charlie together. It just seems right."
"Do you think it's crazy that I want to go to school close to home or wherever James is going in the fall?"
"I think that there are great schools around here and so long as you don't get too distracted by your relationship and stay focused on your future as well, I don't think it's crazy. Nicky, sometimes you just know when someone is the one for you and it sounds like you already feel that way."
"But I must sound crazy. I mean, I'm about to be eighteen, and I've known Charlie for three months. Anyone hearing that from an outside perspective must think that's insane."
"You know, maybe that's true. But the thing about an outside perspective is just that, they're outside; and you my boy, you and Charlie are truly the only two that know what's going on on the inside. And from a semi-outside perspective, I see what you see, if that helps. Quite honestly, I would even go on to say that anyone that knows you both would agree."

I couldn't help but smile. I love that everyone can see how happy we are. I love that I'm in a relationship that I can have out in the open. I love the Charlie has at least, the support of his Dad and his brother. Not to mention Mia and her parents as well.  I hug Mum goodbye and start heading to Charlie's. I get to his house and knock on the door. James opens it.

"Hey dude," he says as he walks away from the door.
"Hi to you too," I say with a chuckle.
"Whose at the door?" Sebastian asks from another room.
"Your future son-in-law," James says nonchalantly.

I smack him on the back of his head and Sebastian walks into the room.

"Nick, hey, how are you? I was just about to order dinner, are you hungry?"
"That would be great, thank you," I say with a smile.

He hands me a menu and I pick out what I want to eat. Charlie finally makes his way down the stairs and looks at us.

"Were you not going to tell me Nick was here?" He asks as he looks at James.

James shrugs.

"I feel like we all share Nick so Dad and I were just getting our time in."

We all laugh.

"Oh, my Mum said we can come over for Thanksgiving," I say with a smile.
"Oh, excellent. We're so happy you guys can make it," Sebastian says.

Charlie:
Nick and I start heading upstairs.

"Keep the door open Charlie," Dad says.

I feel myself blushing but roll my eyes.

"Just had my first kiss a couple of months ago but apparently I'm ready to jump into bed," I whisper to Nick who laughs.
"James you can come up if you want, we're just going to play video games," Nick says.
"Oh so nice of you Nick to invite me to play video games in my own house," he says sarcastically while laughing. "I'll be up in a minute."

Nick shakes his head and laughs.

"I really love it here", he whispers to me.

We get into my room and Nick wraps his arms around me.

"Ready to jump into bed?" Nick teases.

I turn around to face him.

"Oh, so you really are ready to show me how attractive my confidence is, huh?" I say with a smirk.

His lips collide into mine as I wrap my arms around him. Everything else kind of fades away as I feel his hands running through my hair. We both pull away from the kiss.

"Wow," I say.
"You can say that again," Nick says.
"Wow," I say as I smirk at him.

He lightly pushes me.

"Hey, um, can I ask you something?" I say, clearly already uncomfortable.

He places his hand on my leg.

"What's up?"
"You know, actually, nevermind," I say.
"Nope. You're not doing that," he teases.
"Doing what?"
"You're the one that said you wanted to ask me something, so stick with that confidence you've been having and ask me," he says as he places his forehead against mine.
"I don't know --"
"Char, come on."
"Char?" I ask with a smile.
"Sort of just slipped out there. You're name is too long so I just shortened it," he says nervously with a chuckle.
"Sure, you did. Well, I like it, it's cute," I say.
"It would be cute if you asked me what you wanted to ask me," he teases.
"I know you were with Tyler for a pretty long time and that you guys were serious. I was just wondering, did you guys, I mean are you --"
"Are you asking me if I'm a virgin?"
