Ruby

Chapter I

On the planet Senec the dominant species was the Dommisi. They were very much like humans, but with a few traits.
1. The Dommisi had 10 main types; Diamond, Sapphire, Ruby, Pearl, Emerald, Amethyst, Topaz, Aquamarine, Lapiz Lazuli, and Garnet.
2. The Dommisi's physical traits are because of the gem family that they are from. For example, If someone were to come from the Topaz family, they would have a yellow-ish hair and dark yellow eyes.
3. The Dommisi have magical abilities. Based on what family they are from, they can make that gem appear and manipulate it. They can

create platforms, weapons, or basically anything!

The alarm clock went off. Ruby slammed her fist down on the small box. 5:00 AM. M. Ruby knocks on Ruby's door.

"Ruby!" She says "it's time for your first day!"

Ruby sits up, still in her bed. "I'm up mom!" She says.

Ruby moves her black comforter off of her legs and begrudgingly gets out of bed. She opens her closet and picks out an outfit. A black crop that cuts off just about at the belly button top with a black skirt that goes down to her knees. She grabs a black beret and spider earrings too. Then she grabs her hairbrush and brushes out her bright red hair. Then she puts on her white socks coming up just a over her ankles and her black slides. She grabs her bags off of the counter when M. Ruby walks up to her.

"Oh Ruby!" She cries out. "You have become the best girl I thought that you would be! I love you!"
"Love you too Mom!" Ruby says with a little enthusiasm in her voice. "See you during summer?"

M. Ruby smiles with a little tears in her eyes and silently nods. Ruby walked out of the house and onto the bus, exited to see what was waiting for her on the other side of the country. Ruby had no idea where her mom was sending her to, but she was exited.

A long bus ride later, Ruby arrives. Ruby tries to shuffle through the large amount of kids standing and trying to get a look at what was outside of the driver windshield. When Ruby finically gets a peek, she sees this wonderful castle. It is a huge building with a very large yard. Then she got pushed down by another person. She began to get even more exited! When the bus pulled up to the entrance and stopped, kids started rushing out as fast as they could. Now, there weren't that many kids of the main 10 gems. Now there were some extreme royals like diamond, sapphire, and pearl but ruby didn't have anything to worry about. After all, her family as 3rd high class and very well respected.

As Ruby walked in, she was greeted with a very grand hall with tables lined up in small groups of 3. They were all labeled with different gems. She went to the table labeled 'Ruby Family' and sat down. The chairs were wooden and polished very nicely. After all, Ruby knew everything there was to know about wood. D. Ruby was a lumberjack. He taught Ruby everything he knew. Even though there were 3 seats at the table, no other relatives of Ruby's showed. Well that's okay she thought I don't have that many cousins, and I'm an only child. This is expected.

By the time all is the other tables were full, a woman walked up onto a podium in the very front center of the room.

"Attention!" She said "Welcome to the Senic School for Gem Magic! I am Ms. Amethyst and I am one of the head professors here. Tonight, you will be assigned your dorms and classes. You will not have roommates. Everyone will have their own dorm. Ms. Pearl is handing out a pamphlet that describes our expectations, punishments, classes, and all of the general information about SSGM! You have 20 minutes to skim over the pamphlet and mingle. Then I will start assigning dorms. Enjoy!"

School? She thought gem magic? Instead of reading, she connected the dots to where her mom sent her.

After 20 minutes of connecting the dots, the science got interrupted

"Ahem." Ms. Amethyst said "I will be reading off names and dorm rooms by order of class. Here we go. D. Diamond 1. S. Diamond 2, D Sapphire 3, S. Sapphire 4, NB Sapphire 5, D. Ruby 6...."

Ruby had tuned out Ms. Amethyst at this point. She began walking up to her dorm room with her bags. She took out her card that she was given and scanned it. The door opened. When she walked in the dorm and closed the door, she saw a kitchen, living room, bedroom (with a door!), and a guest room. It was a very grand building. She began emptying her bag and decorating her room. Then she took her pamphlet she was given. She sat down on the couch in the middle of the room and started to read it. It had her schedule in it

This is gonna be fun! Ruby thought. After all, this was just the start of a great and fantastical world that she will soon explore. The world of gem magic.
