Chapter One.y'all know how people always say that, becoming famous changes a person. Well , I never really believed until now. I always thought that being famous is always luxurious and beautiful when in reality, it's just draining and wasteful.
I had always had regrets of becoming apart of the industry. But it was just something inside of me that the world had to see. My music is my getaway, my therapy, and just something I could never take for granted.
Until now.
Present day.
"Alright Miss Nova , you have a meeting with the label at 2:30 pm. he wants to talk to you about meet and greets , tours, and photo shoots- " my assistant had went on about as we tracked the floor while walking down the hallway.
"cancel everything I have planned for today, I wanna go home and rest." I insisted.
"yes Miss Nova." She said as she looked back down to her board and rescheduled.
I have to admit, life as a artist was never easy. You never really get the time to think. It's always work, business, and just no time to yourself. You sometimes get so caught up in it you forget that you are a person with normal needs.
I had decided to call my home girl over Isla so we could chat. She always understood me and whenever I needed someone to talk to she was there. But this time she was on some other shit.
"Come on girl, all the rich niggas gonna be out there tonight." She told me trying to get me to changed my mind.
"I'm rich already, what I need them for." I replied to her.
"You know what I mean, when the last time you put yourself out there and have some fun." She said aggravated at the fact that I was not seeing her point.
"Look I know what you mean Isla but, I just wanna have some time to my self you know peace and quiet." I exclaimed trying to get her to see my point.
"And you know I understand that, but you keep forgetting your a celebrity people are expect you to be out there." She said.
"there's other things that come with being a celebrity though, no privacy, no respect." I replied.
"It's okay girl I understand but call me if you changed your mind okay?" She said picking up her purse and making her way to the door.
"Alright love you." I yelled to her but she didn't hear me.
"I love you." I yelled louder.
"Bitch I love you too, ride or die." She said yelling back at me.
"Alright bitch." I said laughing.
After she left I decided to just turn on some soul music and do a little house cleaning. As busy as I am I never get a chance to get to that. At least one thing would be complete.
I turned up the speaker as jodeci filled the house with its melody. Never got a chance to really just sit around and enjoy life. I rocked along to the vocals as I wiped the counters while in sync with the music.
Feeling didn't last forever until I got a call from someone that I really wasn't trying to get annoyed by. It was my brother Bryson. He always calling me. damn a bitch can't never enjoy herself.
"Hey little sis." he said as he had already knowing I was irritated.
"Hey my ass, what do you want?" I said in a highly pissed tone.
"Nothing, just trying to see if you coming out tonight." He said as I started to hear some music playing in the background. he must have been at the studio.
"Damn is everyone going out tonight?" I semi-yelled as it made soft echos throughout the house.
"Yeah everyone suppose to be out there tonight." He said.
"Imma see." I said still debating on wether I should go or not.
"alright I gotta go lay this track down, and also stop being so damn grumpy." He said hanging up the phone.
I may go out I don't know, I was thinking about what Isla had said. She was right I do need to start going out more.
It was started to get around the time the club had opened. I had reached to Isla and said I would go. Just to have a couple of drinks and let my stress go away.
Shit I might as well. I have nothing else to do.
later that night.
"hey sweetie, how you doing tonight?" he smirked as his alcohol breath lingered around me.
"Sorry, I'm not interested." I rolled my eyes hoping he would leave me alone.
"Isla I'm ready to go." I looked over to her as a she was talking to the guy.
"Can't you see I'm occupied." She said through gritted teeth.
"Isla." I semi-yelled
"Girl just have a couple of drinks and go dance. You'll be fine." She said turning back to the boy.
I took her advice and decided to have a couple of drinks and have fun. There was nothing else to do. After a couple of drinks I blacked out. I didn't remember anything in that moment. And something happened that I didn't think would ever happen.
The next morning
I woke up and noticed my surroundings were a little off. I mean my head was banging but this didn't look like my house. And I'm surely not crazy.
"what the fuck." I screamed as the person next to me seemed stunned as well as me.
TBC.
