THREE DAYS LATER
Serena had a coffee in her hand, her phone was seen to be immediately buzzing, it was Mei Kayoko. She had clicked answer, and just clicking the up button on the elevator, so she can go back her boyfriends hospital room.
Serena answering to the person on the line that was with her, "Hello, Mrs. Kayoko." She had softly said.
Mrs. Kayoko who had lightly chuckled, "You know that you can just call me, Mei. . ." She was simply just going through baby photos of her daughter, Anika, "I'm just calling to let you know that her funeral is already in two days, if you aren't still in the hospital, otherwise there is no rush, you can always visit here." She still found it difficult to say that her daughter will be buried in a grave in two days.
Serena who was just already inside the elevator as it was leading her to the floor of her boyfriend's, "I'll be there, uhm is it okay if I were to bring my boyfriend with, and Mindy, Sam and Tara?" She had slowly asked her, 'cause she didn't want to show up with people that they didn't really know, but Mei did know about Mindy.
Mei who let a soft smile appear on her face at the mention of Mindy's name, Anika would be on the phone with her always rambling on how she had met a girl, "Any friend of Anika and yours are always welcomed here, Serena." She gently told her, "No matter what, Serena. You will always have a home here with us, and can visit whenever you please." A tear had strolled down her eye, sniffling.
Serena who had felt her cheeks getting hot, 'cause this was making her so much emotional from the conversation, "Thank you, Mei. I'll see you tomorrow, and I'm still so sorry." Her lips had trembled.
She was walking towards her boyfriends hospital room, and just standing behind the door.
Mei who had exhaled her breath, slowly speaking to her, "See you tomorrow, Serena. Please, don't blame yourself. Please, stay safe and just check in with us every so often." She lightly said before hanging up the phone.
Serena wiped a tear that was rolling down her cheek with her hand, a sniffle escaping as she had opened her boyfriends hospital room door, she had seen him attempting to get up on his own, "Chad! Dude, you just got stitches and are attempting to get up on your own." She had easily placed her coffee on the nearest counter, and approaching her boyfriend.
Worrisome was written all over her face.
His hands were placed on the bed, slightly grunting in pain, "But, I really needed to pee." He whined in protest, Serena playfully rolling her eyes, and wrapped arm around his waist.
