Carlisle had led her to his beautiful home in the middle of the woods, just outside of Forks. It was a large, graceful house, rectangular and well-proportioned, painted a faded white. It was three stories tall, with a deep porch wrapped around the front of the house and painted white. Evangeline could tell that the lovely Esme Cullen had put her undead heart and soul into this masterpiece that was the Cullen residence.

Carlisle gave Evangeline a warm and encouraging grin before heading into the home, which she swiftly followed after, crossing her arms and grasping her biceps tightly. The younger vampire had only seen Esme once out of his entire family, so she was nervous about the approaching encounter. She knew there would be over a dozen more vampires inside that house within the next week; the mere thought of meeting so many vampires at once, vampires who had no idea who she was and had no idea what disturbing gift she possessed, sent unneeded shivers through her undead corpse and made venom burn at her eyes.

The doctor had made sure Esme was the first one she saw in the house, her motherly aura engulfed Evangeline and made her shoulders visibly relax as she practically melted into the kind-hearted woman feeling a sense of asylum in her arms. She cautiously stepped away from Esme but not enough so that she could no longer feel the sense she was there.

In the living room stood six other people, their piercing gazes locked onto the shy vampire, their eyes cold and calculated all except the smallest one. A young child of around what Ange assumed to be six years of age. She had pale skin, which held a blush to it because her strange heart pumps blood, with a faster beat than a normal human heart. The child's perfect face held shell-pink lips and a full complement of snowy milk teeth which smiled confidently at the strange vampire in her home.

"Everybody, I would like to introduce you to one of my oldest friends, Evangeline," He introduced her "Evangeline this is my family, Rosalie, Emmett, Jacob, Edward, Bella and last but not least Renesmee." He gestured to each one of them as he spoke their name.

Rosalie was exceptionally beautiful, even for a vampire; she was tall, statuesque, and had long, wavy blonde hair. She had high aristocratic cheekbones that held the same regal posture of her perfect figure. Her top lip was thin and formed a cupid's bow whilst her bottom lip was luscious and bold, they were both smooth and had a rosy pink tint to them. Her eyes held the same molten golden colour as Carlisle and herself and they were framed with a row of delicate yet thick lashes. All in all, she was fucking gorgeous.

Emmett was very handsome with dimples in his pale cheeks and slightly curly, dark brown hair that almost looked black, giving him a childish look not often seen in a grown man. His full lips held a playful smile as he held Rosalie's smaller hand in his own. He is physically the strongest of the Cullens, which was obvious by the bulging muscles on his towering frame. Like the rest of his family, he has snow-white skin and golden eyes that swirled with mischief.

Jacob was practically the opposite of those who were a part of the Cullen coven, he was of what Evangeline assumed to be of Native American descent. He had a lithe, lanky build but you could see some muscles beneath his tight-fitting shirt. He had inky blank hair that was messily pushed to the one side of his handsome face and although he looked tall for his age, his face still held small child-like attributes showing his true age.

Edward was tall, a good 6'0 maybe a couple of inches more with a slender but muscular body. He had beautiful marble-like skin. His face was handsome, with a strong angular jawline, and aristocratically high cheekbones that could cut glass. His nose was straight, and his lips were full and slightly parted. Bronze hair sat on top of his head, and eyes that knew everything below. His arm was wrapped around his soulmate's waist which Evangeline thought was extremely cute.

Bella was petite, roughly 5'4", and had a very translucent, pale complexion. She had thick, long, brown hair, which looked like liquid chocolate, it was gorgeous. Her eyebrows were darker than her hair and more straight than they were arched, but her cute widow's peak made up for it. Despite her being so small and fragile-looking, Evangeline theorised that Bella still had blood in her - she was still a newborn - no doubt that she could beat Emmett in a strength competition at this point in her vampire life.

"Hey..." Evangeline mumbled nervously, eyes flitting to Esme and Carlisle for reassurance. They both gave an encouraging smile.

"Hello, I'm Renesmee," The child said walking up to her. The anxious vampire crouched down to the girl's level and stuck her hand out for the younger girl to shake. When she did she suddenly saw Renesmee's life flash before her very eyes. From when she was born, to when Irina had spotted her catching snowflakes, and up until now."

Evangeline gasped softly "You truly are a miracle aren't you?" She whispered as Renesmee's cheeks flushed pink at her words. She turned towards Bella and Edward, " Your daughter is beautiful and a gift herself, I will do anything I can to protect her. " She turned back toward the young hybrid and lowered her tone of voice once again, "I'll never let them hurt you, I promise."

"Thank you, Evangeline," Bella smiled at her. "You can call me Ange if you would like, my full name can be a bit much at times," she spoke, avoiding eye contact with any of the Cullens.

"Thank you Ange, we do appreciate it." voiced Edward.

"So Ange," Emmett spoke up with an eyebrow raised, "Are you gifted?"

'Shit shit shit' she thought, she glanced to Carlisle who took note of her worry and Edward raised an eyebrow.

"I think we should tell Ange what everybody else's gifts are before she reveals hers as I can tell you from experience that she does not particularly like to use or talk about her gift."

"Oh, that's fine!" Rosalie chirped, very out of character for her to accept someone so quickly and to be so nice to them. The Cullens looked at the beautiful blonde in slight disbelief.

"What?! Just because I'm a bitch most of the time does not mean that I have to be a bitch all of the time." She commented with a playful eyeroll. "She has promised to protect little Ness, and she is also a good friend of Carlisle's too. I trust his judgement.

Rosalie had pulled Evangeline into her side, an arm around her shoulder whilst still holding her husband's hand with the other. The smaller girl felt a warmth inside of her as Rosalie held her like she was her child making her pull her mouth into an overjoyed grin.

"So Ange," Rosalie began, "Bella has a shield that makes it so that no gift can work on her. Alice can see parts of the future, but they can change so they are not always correct. Then there is Jasper, Alice's soulmate who is also currently not here, he can control and manipulate emotions. You already know of Renesmee's gift so last but not least is Edward who can read minds the creep." she joked.

"Well, uh, my gift is well to raise the dead," Evangeline paused to glance around at their faces in worry, "I can see spirits and if I really wanted to I can use corpses to my own will and get them to do what I like..." she trailed off nervously.

"DUDE THATS SO FUCKING COOL!" Boomed Emmett as Esme sent him a warning look while muttering something about language. Rosalie smiled and squeezed her shoulder reassuringly.

Evangeline felt at home already yet there was still an ache in her frozen heart; an ache for her soulmate.
