00. prologue : ella carson

❝Call out my name when I kiss you so gently.❞

Ever since she was a kid, Ella had always dream of being a reporter. It was something that had stuck for years despite her parents wishes. It was a job that had two extremes: stuck in the office running coffee for the other editors or the dangerous side. Ella fell in love with the latter. She didn't just want to survive, she wanted to live.

There wasn't much going around New York City that she didn't know about, but despite its open book appearance, everything was not as it seemed. The tension that filled the muggy New York air was so thick that something was bound to happen sooner or later. Good or bad, she couldn't tell, but all she knew was that it was something newsworthy.

Ever since the first appearance of the famous Spider-Man creeping around their city, a wall had sprouted between Ella and her friends. Though Gwen still tried, Peter pushed her away unknowingly. It wasn't like him. Those secrets Peter, Gwen, even Ella herself,  kept were splitting their tight-knit group apart, and Ella, with her constant questions, would get to the bottom of it one way or another before they fell apart completely.

And maybe at the same time she could figure out the mysterious man behind the mask who always seemed to show up at the right place at the right time.

author's note: I have just posted the original 'tightrope' book/plot and if you've been around long enough, you know it was written in 2015 when I was 15. My writing was not the best but I feel I should keep the original up and posted. Enjoy what you can without dying from my horrible writing.
