Hours later, she was cradled in his arms while she drew lines on his chest using her finger. "What are you doing, Baby?" Nickolai asked with a chuckle. "Bitin ka pa ba?"

She scowled at him. "Nick, baka naman hindi na ako makalakad bukas."

He laughed. "Then what is it? You look like someone who has things running inside her head."

"Pwede na ba tayong mag-usap?" she asked scooting upward so she could be at eye level with him. "May gusto ka bang sabihin?"

"Marami..." he replied.

"Okay..."

"Your friendship with Nicko is making me feel uncomfortable."

"Our relationship is platonic, Nick."

"The fact that you are calling what you guys have as a relationship makes me want to throw a punch at that ass."

"Are you mad at him?"

"Yes."

"Bakit?"

"Because he doesn't respect other people's relationships."

Nickolai sighed. "I know that friendships you forge with other people are none of my business, Lee. I don't want to come across as someone controlling and insecure na ultimo kung sino ang mga kaibigan mo ay hihimay-himayin ko pa."

"No, I never called his parents Nanay and Tatay. It's always Nanay mo and Tatay mo. Kasi 'yun ang tawag n'ya sa mga magulang n'ya. Besides, how do you even know about these things?"

"Because Alex updates me regularly about you and Nicko. Pinipilit n'ya kasi akong umamin and I think he was hoping that I'd get jealous enough to do something about it."

"Bakit ba kasi hindi ka umamin kaagad noon tungkol sa feelings mo?"

"Because it felt wrong. I am an adult and honestly, if someone who's my age now shows the slightest hint of admiration towards our daughter who's about as young as you, I would probably kill him. Wala nang tanong-tanong pa papatayin ko na lang s'ya kasi pakiramdam ko ginogoyo n'ya 'yung anak ko."

Lee Ann laughed out loud. "Grabe ka naman, Atty. Sandoval! Talagang papatayin mo?"

"Totoo. See, even I am not comfortable with our age gap. Even if we're family friends, even if we have a history together, even if you have admitted that I am your childhood crush, at kahit na ikaw pa ang gumawa ng paraan para maging tayo, at the back of my mind, I could not help but feel uneasy. "Tao lang ako. Hindi ko kayang maging santo kung 'yung babaeng mahal ko ay hubad na nakapatong sa akin."
