The members of the Order stood strong with their chins raised as we stepped into the room. They wanted to seem fearless, but even I could see they were scared and unsure. Vergil strode confidentially into the middle, Dante and I close on his heel.

He looked around at his workers, "Tobias is Dead." he had to wait for the cheers to die down before he could continue, "With his death, we are free from a demon king's clutches. But a problem arises with this success."

Silence filled the room, and even I found myself curious. Vergil glanced over at me, "Without someone guarding the Hell Gate,  the demons can open it at will. If someone is not guarding and monitoring it, everyone is in danger."

Murmurs rose among the workers. They looked terrified, the thought chilling them to the bone. Brook and Juliette shared a look.

Vergil's gaze flitted to Dante, "Dante, I will give you another chance. Rule with me, Brother. We will protect the humans."

Dante squared his shoulders, "Oh, so you're making another grab for power? I should have known."

Vergil shook his head, "No, Dante. I mean it when I say we will protect the humans. They're feeble and brittle, and they need protection from the demons. With the rising threat, they'll be defenseless."

The members of the Order nodded, agreeing with him completely. Dante shook his head, "You will jump for power. I know you."

Vergil's expression darkened, "You don't trust me? Take heed that we would be sharing power. Equal each other out. Imagine that."

Dante bristled, "How bout I send you back to hell instead?"

The tension began to rise, and I noticed the workers backing away.

No, I will not let them fight again.

"Knock it off, guys. How about I settle this?"

They turned their gazes to me, slightly interested. I took a deep breath, "Okay, you two will protect the humans. No ruling. And you will share responsibilities. I will help. And there will be no grabbing for power. Understand?"

It wasn't a question; it was an order. Dante took a double take. My eyes burned into his. He opened his mouth and spoke after a moments hesitation, "Fine. But only if Vergil agrees."

I turned to Vergil, "Well?"

He stared at me, and something flashed in his eyes before he looked away. "Fine." he said, almost inaudibly.

I sighed, "Good. I'm glad thats settled."

Dante and the rest of the group dispersed. I quickly walked forwards and caught Vergil's arm, "Vergil... do me a favor."

He stared down at me with a forced smile, "Yes? What do you need?"

"Vergil... please. I know how badly you want this power. Please... please for me and for Dante, don't grab for it. Please."

He smiled, more naturally this time, and cupped my face, "Ah my darling, do not worry about me." he kissed me, "Just worry about keeping yourself sustained. We have our whole lives ahead. We can worry about this later."

I smiled at him, "You're right."

But something didn't feel right. I saw that strange flash in his eyes again, and he grew distant once more.

"Vergil?" I said quietly.

He raised his brow, "Yes?"

"I love you."

"I love you too."

Greetings, fellow readers. I am sorry to say that this will be the end of my second book.
I just want to give a Disclaimer:

I do not own any of the Devil may Cry characters, the Devil may Cry Plot, or any of the Devil may Cry Dialogue. But I do own the characters I made up, a long with the plot I made up.

Now that that's out of the way...

I have debated whether or not I should make ONE more book. My friend thinks I should.... I have the plot all figured out.

But I want YOUR guys' help too.

What do you think? Should I write one more book? And if you do, is there anything you want to see in it?

Let me know in the comments!
