Chapter 1 - Another chance...

[Hailey PoV ~ ??? / ???]

"Don't worry. You'll get another chance..."

These words haunted me in my dreams, echoing through my head as I slept. What was that supposed to mean? What other chance?

I woke up when I was hit in the face by a pillow. I immediately sat up, looking around. "Ja-" I stopped myself when I realized that I wasn't in our apartment. After inspecting the room a little bit more, I realized that I was in my old bedroom back at home. How? That was the moment I realized that I wasn't alone. Zander and Luke were standing in front of me in their pajamas.

"Finally! Come on! We need to get ready for school!" Zander complained. My eyes widened when I saw them. "H-how did I get here?" I asked, trying to remember how I got back to my childhood home. But Jake and I had fallen asleep on our sofa yesterday! There was no way that I could be here!

"Did you drink too much yesterday?" Luke asked in a worried voice, sitting down next to me on my bed. "What do you mean? I don't drink since-" "Did you already forget the concert we were at yesterday?" Zander cut me off, crossing his arms. "Concert? That was six months ago," I said in confusion. Zander and Luke suddenly looked very concerned, and Zander sat down next to Luke.

"Hailey? Are you okay?" Luke asked. "Yes? Why? I only want to know how I got here?" I replied. "What do you mean? We drove you here yesterday after the concert?" Zander said. His voice slowly started to sound as worried as Luke's. "That can't be correct-" Suddenly, I had a very insane idea.

I grabbed my phone and turned it on, seeing the date of today. I was right! The date showed the exact same one as two months before Daisy and Sean's death. But that couldn't be happening! Time travel was nothing but fantasy!

"Luke! Zander!" I said, my eyes meeting Zander's. "Yeah?" Luke asked. "What happened on June fifteen?" I asked him, raising my voice a little too much, so I was basically shouting by now. Zander and Luke exchanged a quick look before Zander answered. "What do you mean? I don't remember anything happening on June fifteen?" Zander replied. I froze. My heart was racing, and my thoughts were a mess.

"Hailey? Did you hit your head or something?" Zander asked. "No. I-" I stopped myself. They would never believe me if I told them. They would think that I went insane if I told them... So, I quickly got out of bed. "Let's go change! I don't want to be late for school!" I shouted, quickly grabbing a few clothes from my wardrobe.

Luke and Zander looked at each other in worry and confusion but left my room shortly after to go get changed. Meanwhile, I was already ready and grabbed my phone. I had to call Jake! He was probably going to do something dumb if I didn't!

[Jake PoV ~ Jake's house / 6:45am]

I sat there numb as I stared at my phone display. Was this a sick joke?! I had already checked the whole house, but Milo, my mother, and Oreo were nowhere to be seen. And now that I saw the date of today, I felt like I was going crazy.

Suddenly, I got a call from Hailey. I immediately took it and put my phone to my ear. "Jake! Where are you right now?!" she shouted at me. "At my old house! Where are you?!" I asked her back. She sighed in relief. "I woke up in my house too," she said. I was relieved that she was alright.

"Jake? Please listen to me very close now," she said. "Okay?" I replied. "I think we travelled back in time. Did you see the date?" Hailey asked. My eyes widened. "What?! That's impossible!" I shouted. "Jake! Did you see the date?" she asked again. "Yes! But-" "Look at the pictures you made yesterday!" she said. I raised my eyebrows and quickly opened my photo gallery on my phone. My eyes widened. There were only the pictures we had made six months ago when we went to that concert.
