Do you remember the song I wrote?
It was about how I knew the guy I liked could never like me back
I sang it for our best friends who fell in love that same night
You played guitar and you figured out that it was about you
I guess it wasn't that hard seeing as every moment I sang about, you were there for
I wish more than anything that when we talked that night, you kissed me instantly
Instead, you wanted me to undress so I wouldn't get too warm but all I wanted was for you to tell me you liked me back and not play games
You promised me we would record our song and we did
But the moment I realized you didn't love me but loved the concept of being in love, you sent the song back
Did you play it often? Because I think you only proved my point
The guy I liked could never like me back
