Was Romeo

Who said

With love's light wings

Did I o'erperch these walls

For stony limits

Cannot hold love out

And was Juliet

Who questioned

What’s in a name

That which we call a rose

By any other name would

Smell as sweet

Love at first sight

Is no more

It seems to have vanished

With time

Drowned out

By falsified “beauty”

And worldly lusts

My heart aches to see

The loveless state

We live in

Pushed along


To believe

What is beautiful

Lies on the outside

What love I have not

That also the World

Does neither possess

If we loved

Like Romeo and Juliet

The world would be...
