Chapter 1 ~ Liam

“You’re a dead man, Tomlinson!” Niall shouts as he runs after the Doncaster boy. I laugh at them from the floor of the rehearsing room. Harry is recording a video while Zayn laughs next to me as well.

I’m not sure what Louis did this time to piss Niall, but the Irish lad looks ready to kill our band mate. Maybe he ate the cookies Alex had made for him, or maybe he made a sour comment about Niall’s girlfriend. We all know how Louis can’t say something nice about any girl, no matter how good they got along before. Whatever the reason, it’s pretty fun to see Louis running and Niall chasing him with a crazy expression.

When I see scenes like this, when we are so random and I laugh so hard that my stomach hurts is when I think about my life and how grateful I am. I’m definitely living the dream, in the biggest boy band ever with my four best mates, traveling the world and doing everything I ever dreamt. We’re rehearsing for our tour in Europe to promote our third album and I can’t believe we’ve come so far. In all honesty, I wouldn’t change a thing of my life.

We’ll… maybe something.

When Alex walks in with Mila next to her, I stop laughing. Mila sits next to Zayn immediately and he hugs her closely while Alex saves Louis by distracting Niall. She can do that pretty easily and she doesn’t need food for that. And seeing them reminds me of what it’s like to be in a relationship and I miss those days when I had someone too. Harry stops recording but his fingers fly over the screen and I know he is texting Hannah, the smile on his face is all I need to know I’m right. They are in serious and stable relationships, the kind of relationships that everyone wants to know. They have what I had, they smile so honestly that you can’t even begin to think they are not the happiest when they are with the girls.

It’ not like I miss Danielle. It’s been a long time since we broke up and things have been better, not only for me, but for her. I saw her the other day and it wasn’t awkward. She is really happy, really focused on her career and she mentioned she met someone special. So it’s not her what I miss, but to be with someone. And since we broke up… I haven’t met anyone that catches my eye. No one intrigues me, no one makes me want to get closer, to get to know her better. So I guess I’m kind of scared I won’t meet anyone. Maybe it’s because I’ve seen Niall, Zayn and Harry finding someone they can’t live without. They have had problems, they were hurt and they thought in a moment everything was over, but they overcame everything and they are happy, oh so happy. Alex, Mila and Hannah are amazing girls and I guess I want to find someone who makes me feel like the lads feel. Even if they don’t say it, I can see it in their eyes.

Zayn, for instance. When Mila walks in his smile is immediate, his eyes shine with a different light and his body moves towards her unconsciously. When he sees someone random with her book, I swear it seems like he’ll break out dancing in that moment.

When you see the most important people around you being so happy… you only want to be that happy, too. You want to feel like them.

“You okay, Liam?” Mila asks next to Zayn. I blink a couple of times to fully come back to reality. I was in too deep in my thoughts.
