A feeling of pride and serenity settled over me as I took in the scenery of the village, laid out before me in all its glory. The view from the balcony of my two story house was magnificent, overlooking the unique multicolored roofs of the other houses. It was an interesting place, my village. Each house was designed to suit the taste of its owner, standing out with its different color and shape. Needless to say, the village was so extravagant that no one visited without being changed psychologically. Everyone was different, with their own sense of style, and their houses reflected that. It was a work of art, a mesmerizing scene of mismatched colours and styles blending in to complement each other. Every villager felt pride in dwelling here. It was one of the few villages without a uniformed code of building or standard color. Our village was unrestricted and free. To accentuate this freedom, at the back of every house, unending fields of wild cane grew, providing a beautiful backdrop to this perfectly made picture. This greenery gently sloped up the hills and provided a sense of joy to those that gazed upon the calming plains.
