"We can't do this anymore, y/n." The words spilling effortlessly from Tara's lips.

Your eyes widened, surprised by her sudden change of heart in your relationship. "Tara, what do you mean?" You reached your hand for hers and she pulled it away before you could grasp it.

"Us, y/n." She licked her lips nervously and shook her head once. "I can't be with you anymore."

You felt your eyes get hot. "Tara, if I did something... Please, I can fix it." Your heart was breaking piece by piece, and it was like you could physically feel it happening.

"It's not you,-" she started.

"It's not you, it's me, right?" You interrupted. "What changed, Tara?"

Tara knew you were persistent, and that you were not going to give up on her. She had to break your heart, it was the only way to protect you.

She gulped before speaking her next words, knowing it would hurt her more than you, her dark brown eyes welled with tears. "This was a waste of time... You were a waste of time, y/n." She looked down at the floor as she spoke, not wanting to see the heartbreak that was evident on your face.

Your face went pale, this felt like a nightmare come true. Hot tears ran down the sides of your cheeks almost instantly. "Tara..." you spoke desperately, reaching out to her once more.

She pulled herself away at your touch. "You don't get it, I don't love you anymore, y/n!" She peeked up at you and instantly regretted it when she saw how upset you were. She quickly looked away.

"Y-you don't love me?" you painfully spoke, sniffling in between.

"Goodbye, y/n." She quickly turned herself around and exited your apartment, closing the door behind her.

You stood there frozen in time. You lost the girl you would die for. You lost the girl that you pictured marrying and growing old together. You lost.

It's been a week since your heart had been ripped from your chest and stomped on. You've tried reaching out to Tara, but she ended up blocking you on everything.

You reached out to the friend group for support, just something. They decided to cut you out of the picture after Tara ended things with you. You have sat there, hating yourself, wondering what you did wrong.

After a week of skipping classes and trapping yourself in your apartment, you decided to finally go out and get some air. As you walked towards your favorite boba spot, you noticed Tara walking towards you, looking down at her phone while she walked.

Your heart broke all over again seeing her, but you couldn't ignore that she was there in front of you.

"Tara."

The girl stopped in her tracks, looking up from her phone. She shook her head and tried to walk past you. You stopped her by gently wrapping your hand around her bicep. "Please," you begged.

She sighed and looked up at you. "Make it quick," she demanded. "Someone will see us."

You took a deep breath. How were you supposed to form all of your thoughts into words and make it fast? "Why, Tara? Why did you just throw me away like that? Like I was trash... Then cut me out of your life like we never existed?"

"I had no choice, y/n."

"But you did. It was all your choice." You bit down on your lip hard to stop yourself from crying. "Did you mean it? When you said you didn't love me?"

She quickly looked away from you, as if she was avoiding the truth. "That's enough. I have to go." She quickly ripped her arm from your grip. She looked both ways before walking fastly across the street to get away from you.

She succeeded in breaking you twice. With tears streaming down your face, you went into the boba cafe. As you approached the counter to order, you noticed Tara's sister, Sam. She was already looking at you as if she were waiting for your arrival. She stood from her chair and went over to you, pulling you into her embrace without any hesitation.

"I knew you'd end up here sooner or later," she spoke softly, she squeezed you tighter before letting go.

You melted into her hug, staying silent as tears continued to flow from your eyes. "Sam," you cried softly.

"I'm sorry I didn't seek you out sooner," she frowned. "Tara's been making sure I don't associate with you."

"What?" You furrowed your eyebrows in confusion. "But why, Sam? I've been a total wreck, and none of you guys were there for me."

"I'm so sorry, y/n. But there was a reason." She sighed nervously. "Listen, there's something you need to know."

Your heart thudded, thinking that Sam was going to tell you that Tara had already found someone else. "... What?" you hesitated.

Sam looked around the room to ensure no one was eavesdropping on your conversation. She brought her hand to your ear and whispered.

"Ghostface is back."
