As much as I wanted to spend time with Chase today, I was sort of kicked out because of their training. I had no work to do for school (which was very rare) so I decided to go visit my mom at her new job. I know she had been stressed lately, so I wanted to surprise her and see what she was up too. It was about a ten minute walk from my house, and I couldn't drive by myself yet, so I decided to just take my bike.
When I got to her work, I checked in as a guest and made my way up to her office. I knocked on her door before I let myself in.
"Hey," I greeted with a smile.
My mom looked up from her computer and smiled back at me.
"Reagan? What are you doing here?" She asked, getting up to give me a hug.
"I just decided to visit because I had some time to kill," I explained, hugging her back.
"Well, I'm glad you showed up. I was getting bored here," she joked.
I grinned and took a seat in a spare chair. I looked around the room while my mom finished typing something. It was a decent size but a little boring when it came to the decorations. The only colorful things were the few personal belongings my mom has brought from home. My mom noticed me judging the place and raised an eyebrow.
"Well, what did you expect? Disney World?" She asked with a laugh.
I rolled my eyes and pulled out my phone. It was 12:30. I had gotten out of school early today because of some teacher meetings, so I hadn't even had lunch yet.
"Hey, now is my break so if you wanted, I could go out and get us something to eat," my mom suggested, practically reading my mind.
I nodded my head.
"That sounds perfect," I said.
My mom smiled and gathered her jacket and purse.
"I'll be back soon," she said and closed the door behind her.
I waved goodbye and continued scrolling aimlessly through my phone. I sat silently for about 15 minutes before I started to smell something weird...almost like...smoke. I ignored it when I didn't hear anyone in the hallway, but the smell started to get stronger and I was starting to get worried. The blaring noise of the fire alarms started just as I started to see smoke seep through the crack under the door. I hopped up out of my seat and peered through the glass into the rest of the building, and that was when I saw the blazing fire heading straight for the room I was in...

Chase's POV
Adam, Bree, and I had to go straight from school back to our house because of Mr. Davenport's never ending training sessions. We had been locked in a basement doing nothing but training from more then a decade, and yet he still didn't think we were ready. Either way, there was no escaping it. Every time we even murmured an ounce of disagreement, he just made us work longer. Don't get me wrong, I loved Mr. Davenport, but sometimes he could be annoying as hell.
"I was supposed to hang out with Ethan today! This is so stupid. I hate training," Bree complained as we threw our bags to the side of the lab.
"Just suck it up, Bree. You know how angry Mr. Davenport gets when we give him a hard time," I said.
Bree rolled her eyes and went to go change when Mr. Davenport came running into the room.
"Speak of the devil," I said under my breath.
"Everyone, training is canceled!" He exclaimed with wide eyes.
We all cheered but Mr. Davenport looked anything but happy.
