"Lady O'etxä," Tawn warned.
"I'm just saying, I mean, he's single, handsome, and, from what my husband said, a great warrior," Hue'iì teased, "you know what that means, right?" she smirked.
Tawn rolled her eyes at the ladies, covering her smile and warm face. Of course she knew what that meant.
"He's strong, and lord knows what his previous mate took every night," Hue'iì sighed, fanning herself.
Tawn gasped at what she was insinuating.
"Well, having four kids is the explanation we needed," O'etxä added.
"Ladies, please, this is hardly appropriate," Tawn scolded. Sometimes their children were more mature than their mothers.
Tawn and the ladies chatted for the rest of the day and eventually finished their crafts. At the end of their session, Tawn said goodbye to the ladies and walked towards her sister's Marui. She needed to give the rug to her since Aonung needed a new one.
During her short walk, she greeted the villagers, conversing with them and saying 'see you later' at the end.
"Tawn!" The woman stopped and turned towards the person who called her.
Her heart immediately skipped a beat when she saw the same man who was the topic of today's conversation and the ladies' lewd suggestions.
"Oel ngati kameie, Jake," she greeted formally, clearing her throat to keep those thoughts away from her.
Jake jogged towards her, "please drop the pleasantries," he smiled, bowing down in greeting.
Tawn nodded. She looked around to see if someone may be nearby so she could not be alone with the man she secretly yearned for, "can I help you with something?" she said, surrendering when she saw no one she could count on.
Jake was pulled out of whatever he was thinking, "oh yeah, um, where are you going?"
Tawn looked confused at his question, and she noted how flustered Jake was, "I'm going to give this to the Tsahik. Aonung needs it," Tawn explained.
"Oh, let me come with you," Jake said suddenly. Tawn's eyes widened at his offer. Seeing this, Jake tumbled over his words, "Oh, it's—it's because I need to find Tonowari, you know, because of stuff?" he said...more like he asked himself.
Tawn stifled a giggle, secretly giddy and flustered that she could faint.
"Oh sure, come," she said, walking side by side with Jake.
The two walked in silence for a few seconds before Jake broke it, "Thank you."
Tawn looked up at him in confusion, "for what?"
Jake smiled adorably, "You know, being there for the kids."
Tawn saw her sister Marui up ahead, and she cursed their short walk. She wanted to walk with him, talk to him, and get to know him better. "No worries, I love the kids," she smiled bashfully.
Jake was about to explain something, but stopped when he noticed Tonowari's marui before him. "Tawn?" without thinking, he grabbed her hand, stopping her from continuing their journey. He quickly stepped in front of her, blocking her view of the Marui.
Tawn stopped and looked up at him questioningly.
Jake cursed to himself when he saw her big light blue eyes looking up at him.
"Do you, maybe want to, um, want to—"
"Tawnie?"
Jake cursed again at whoever was disturbing their moment. He turned around, aggravated by the intrusion, while Tawn tried to hide her disappointment with an overly sweet smile.
