When you woke up, a cold breath tickling your face, you realized you weren't in Max's bed, and she wasn't here. You were alone. In the forest. At the exact same spot you stopped at hours ago.

So everything was a dream..?

You felt tears flooding down your face at the thought. Maw was still mad at you, and you didn't apologized to each other, nor did you went home together.

For the second time this day, you felt your heart break.

After a little while, you finally stood up and walked out of the woods weakly, eyes redder than ever because of the now cold air. As soon as you exited the forest, you met a worried El.

"Y/n! You look terrible, what happened?"

You couldn't even say it. The words were stuck in your throat, and the simple thought of what happened broke you again.

".. M-Max and I had a fight.."

Seing you were about to cry, the brunette guided you inside her house, giving you a cover to warm you up, before you broke down, trying to explain everything in between sobs.

She wasn't much of a touchy person, but you really needed confort, so she hugged you and patted you back.

"There there.. it's gonna be okay.." she said gently as you hugged her back

If you looked through the window, you would've seen Max, but you were facing the other way around. She, however, could perfectly see you.

She was worried because it was night and you weren't home. Still mad and upset, but worried. So seeing you, in El's arms, wrapped up in a confortable cover.. she didn't believe her eyes.

You had a fight earlier in the day, and all you did was spending the day with the brunette? Not even trying to make things up between you two? Did you even care?

She felt her heart break, not knowing what to think anymore. She loved you, but she felt betrayed.

She didn't feel like talking to you at the moment, so she just went back home, not feeling so well.

Weeks had passed since "the incident", as you called it. You had barely talked to Max since then. You hadn't spend so much time at Max's, not liking the sight of her without being able to hold her.

In fact, you moved out to El's, which the redhead didn't like much.

She tried not to think much about you, but she simply couldn't. Everything reminded her of you. She wanted to apologize, really, but every time she tried, she saw you hugging El again that night, and didn't know what to do anymore.

Lately, she, and the rest of the group, was kept busy by some corpse found in the woods. "Mutilated by bears or something" according to the medias.

But knowing what happened in Hawkins, they didn't really believe that.

Of course, everyone thought it could've been a demogorgon, including Max. But a tiny little part of herself thought that maybe... maybe it could've been you, in a non-controlled transformation.

She didn't want to think that though. You swore you wouldn't hurt anyone, and she wanted to believe you. But still... A werewolf was closer to a bear than a demogorgon...

In order to be sure, the group decided to go investigate the woods, even if they didn't know about you being a werewolf.

"Are you sure it's safe here?"
