Jace and Alyssa were so very natural at being parents. And perhaps it was because they started later than most or the number of siblings they had. But it was something they both enjoyed greatly.

They also knew that there would be many intermarriages between all of them. Even their younger siblings. Joffrey, Aegon, and Viserys when they all finally married.

One thing was certain; Alyssa and Jace did what Rhaenyra and Daemon couldn't because of how late they got together.

After the third child and second pregnancy, Alyssa felt like she could do anything and wanted to fulfill the dream of having a large family. Of filling the Holdfast.

They would be better parents than Jaehaerys and Alysanne were. Especially to their daughters.

So, by the time they stopped having children, Alyssa and Jace gifted the world 10 Targaryens.

About half of them had silver hair, two shared Alyssa's golden hair, one had her eyes, and three had Jace's brunette hair.

Six girls and four boys.

At one point, Baela asked Jace if he knew there were ways to prevent pregnancy. He assured her he did. Their children were far enough apart. Alyssa had initiated every time.

Rhaenyra and Daemon loved it. So many little grandchildren to spoil and raise. Alyssa and Jace's brood was what Baela called them all. But at least her two children had lots of cousins.

Aemma, Daemaera, Baelon, Laenor, Aenora, Daenerys, Mae, Elaera, Aurion, and Rhaegar.

Alyssa's last pregnancy was hard on her body. It was much tougher, made her much sicker, and she had a very prolonged recovery from it. They knew they'd probably pushed it a bit far, Alyssa was older.

And though the maesters couldn't quite tell them to stop, since there was a possibility Alyssa could carry another, they knew. Jace wouldn't risk his wife so recklessly. They had more than enough children.

Enough to fill their hearts with joy at every turn, enough heirs and spares to get dizzy at. A long line to ensure the Targaryen dynasty would not fail.

In true dynasty fashion, Aemma and Baelon would eventually marry. The future Queen and her consort. Both focused on duty and scholarly pursuits, they knew of their ancestry. Wished to follow in the steps of many Kings and Queens before.

But even with that, Aemma and Daemaera were the heads of the pack. Roughhousing with their brothers, rolling up their sisters when it was time for them to find matches across the Realm.

It was what Alyssa always wanted for her family. Watching as her oldest twin girls dragged their introverted sister Aenora along to get her ready to meet suitors.

"I like blue on her better," Aemma would say, holding up a gown.

"No, purple is most definitely her colour," Daemaera would argue back, pulling away the dress to put up a different one.

They were good sisters. And with parents who were not forceful with rigid rules as many had been before, they raised good, independent daughters. As well, they raised respectful, kind, and regal sons.
