Misunderstanding (JAKEHOON)

In this chapter they talk about life. At least its not politics.

Jake took a breath trying to calm himself. He wasn't used to crying in front of people even though his tears hadn't even fallen yet.

He glanced up at Sunghoon. Sunghoon was studying him but Jake couldn't make out his expression.

"From one person who has lost people to another," Sunghoon said softly breaking the silence. "Im sorry."

Jake tilted his head. "So is that what you were talking about on the rooftop?" He asked.

Sunghoon nodded. "Yeah. Thing is, i get it. I understand all those inner feelings, thoughts, and insecurities. I just didn't know what you went through was worse than i thought."

Jake nodded. "Well its your turn."

"Huh?"

Jake raised an eyebrow. "Now you have to tell me why you weren't in school."

Sunghoon gulped. He'd forgotten about that. How was he supposed to tell Jake about his sister without crying?

Sunghoon drew in a shaky breath. Jake was waiting for an answer.

"I was a orphan till i was nine years old," Sunghoon began. "My parents, as you know, didnt love me and tried to hit me but my sister, Ryujin, tried to stand up for me. It went on like this for so long. Then one day Ryujin had enough and tried fighting back but..." Sunghoon blinked back tears. "She was sent to the hospital on life support. My parents got arrested, and are in jail for life. That is actually what made me scared of standing up for myself. As for my sister, Ryujin was in and out of the hospital. Until last week when..." Sunghoon stopped. A few tears escaped his eyes and ran down his face. When he spoke again his voice was barely audible. "Shes gone. She died last week."

Silence fell.

Sunghoon was suddenly engulfed in a hug, his face hitting Jakes chest. Sunghoon tensed up but only for a moment. He felt comfortable in Jakes arms. He hugged Jake back.

"Is that what you didn't want to tell us in the group chat?" Jake asked softly. Sunghoon could feel his chest vibrate when he spoke which made Sunghoon shiver. "Yes," He whispered.

"You should tell them. They're worried."

Sunghoon frowned. "What if they get mad?"

Jake raised an eyebrow. "Why would they?"

"Because i lied, and because i didn't tell them the truth even when i found my phone," Sunghoon hung his head ashamed that he didn't respond.

"Hoon, if anything they're gonna be worried, maybe a little annoyed but they are mostly gonna be relieved you're okay."

Sunghoon felt a blush creeping onto his face. "H-Hoon?"

Jake nodded smirking secretly at Sunghoons red face. "Yeah. Why do you not like it-"

"No no its fine!" Sunghoon said quickly. "You can keep calling me that."

Sunghoon, after recovering from his flustered-ness, turned at took out his phone from his pocket. "Might as well get it over with," he sighed.

Sunghoon had turned so his back was to Jake. Jake, being the flirty man that he is, snaked his arms around Sunghoons waist making his lean back on Jakes chest, giving him a back hug. Sunghoon made a random noise out of surprise, his face reddening again. Jake put his head on Sunghoon shoulder so he could look at his phone screen.

Sunghoon unlocked his phone and opened the group chat, still in Jakes arms. He had no intention of moving.

Yang Garden: SUNGHOON!!

Sunniboi: WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?!

OnlySmartOne: OMG YOURE BACK!

Danceking: WE WERE SO WORRIED HYUNG!!!

BlueJay: NEVER DO THAT AGAIN!!!!!!

PuppyJake: guys let him speak

Yang Garden: still, like Sunoo hyung said, WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?!

IcePrince: i lost my phone

IcePrince: also im sorry for lying to you guys

OnlySmartOne: its fine. But why

IcePrince: my sister died...

Yang Garden: WHAT?! RYUJIN IS GONE?!

Sunniboi: OMG Sunghoon im so sorry

Danceking: hyung im so sorry 😞

BlueJay: om-im so sorry

OnlySmartOne: Sunghoon im so sorry

IcePrince: thanks guys. Im a little better now. I just needed a week

The group chat began to flood with 'i hope you get better' messages. Sunghoon texted a thank you message then set his phone down.

"Told you they wouldn't be mad," Jake said almost smugly.

"Whatever," Sunghoon rolled his eyes but he was smiling. He lay back on Jakes chest causing Jake to blush.

"You're blushing~" Sunghoon teased with a smirk.

"Shut up!" Jake said flustered.

"Cute," Sunghoon muttered under his breath. But Jake heard it. A giddy smile formed on his face.

This chapter is long. Longer than i intended. Honestly i couldn't stop typing.
