After telling Ana where I was going and receiving the "you go girl" reaction, Brandon and I are in a cab on our way to his place. I didn't feel bad for leaving Ana since she seems to be hitting it off well with the man in the suit. It takes everything in me not to jump Brandon in the cab. Since I don't want to give the cabbie a free show, I restrain myself. Once we're inside his apartment, my restraint goes out the window as I immediately start pulling off his clothes.
Brandon laughs as he dips down to kiss my neck. "Oh, Sara, do you have any idea how I've dreamed of this moment?"
I slip off his white dress shirt, running my hands over the bare skin of his chest and stomach. "It probably isn't too different than my dreams." When his fingers find the zipper on my dress, I stop moving. "Wait."
He pulls his hands away and leans back to look me in the eye. "What's wrong?"
"Nothing... I just..." This is happening so quickly, I don't want to look back on tonight as some silly heated mistake. "I want to know what it is you like about me. I want to know that this is worth losing my job over."
His hand comes up to my cheek, his thumb caressing my skin, and I lean into it. "Sara, you're the smartest and brightest person I've ever had the chance to meet. You could do so much more, work for a larger company in a higher capacity, but you choose to stay here to be close to your family. You never cease to amaze me with your ability to quote movies from the nineties." He chuckles and I smile. "Plus, you're always there for me, willing to listen and talk when nobody else even bothers to care. Your kindness gets me through the day and makes me want to actually show up for work." He pauses, frowning. "Now you won't be there."
I take his free hand in mine. "I'll be there after work."
Brandon grins. "You're the sweetest thing." He pulls me in for a hug. "Do you want me to tell you more?"
Everything he said melts me because it shows how much he knows me. Apparently he paid just as much attention to me as I did to him. "No, that was enough." I kiss the center of his chest. "You're enough. You're worth it."
"May I?" he asks, his hand over the back of my dress.
Brandon unzips the dress, slipping the straps off my shoulder. The dress falls to the floor, pooling at my feet. His gaze falls to my pink satin bra and panties. The coloring in his eyes changes, almost darkening. "Do you know how lovely you are?" I shake my head. "Oh, but you are." His hand touches my cheek. "You're blushing."
My eyes widen, and I feel the heat in my cheeks increase. "Stop," I say with a giggle.
"Oh, no. I like it too much. You look so lovely in pink. It makes your eyes shine, and brightens your hair." He takes a strand of my blonde curls between his fingers.
His sweetness is more than I can handle. I let out a long breath. "Brandon, take me to bed."
Without a word, he lifts me into his arms and carries me to his bedroom. He places me on his bed gently, lowering his body over mine. His lips trail over my cheeks and down my neck, his hands holding onto my waist. When he reaches my breasts, he kisses lightly across the slope, sending shivers up my spine.
