Chapter 16: Recovering-Liam

I woke up to the sound of a heart monitor. Beep, beep, beep. I opened my eyes. My vision was blurry but it was better after a few seconds. I saw Diana. She was sitting in a chair talking to someone, Daniel and Jacob. They were all here. All my best friends. I really had the best friends ever! I tried to sit up, but that's when I felt it again. Pain. It was strong and overtook my body. I laid back down so I could feel as little pain as possible.
"He's awake" Daniel said.
They all came over to me.
"How are you doing?" Diana asked.
"Fine, I guess. It's just pain" I said playfully. They smiled.
"Man, are you okay, how did it feel when you got shot?" asked Jacob.
"Jacob!" Diana said and slapped him in the arm.
"I could call the cops on you for that" he said.
"Go ahead" she said and giggled.
Oh love triangles. Jacob and Daniel both like her but she doesn't like...actually I don't know if she likes any of them. It's funny when they get jealous though. One day they hate exch other, the next they're best friends.
"Liam, do you need anything?" She asked.
"Can I have some water?" I told her.
"Of course, darling" she said and went out the room. Daniel and Jacob both had the same expression. When they heard her say "darling" to me, their smile faded. I laughed.
"What's so funny?" Daniel asked.
"Your face when she said that."
"Do you and her have a thing going on?" Jacob asked.
"Nope, we're just friends."
"You sure?" Daniel says,"we don't want anymore competition."
"Haha, I'm sure" I said.
The door opened and she came back with a up of water.
"Hungry?" she asked me.
I was a bit hungry but eating would be so painful.
"No" I said.
"You have to eat, you've been out for two days."
Two days! I missed two days of my life, that sucks. Oh well I need to regain them by staying up all night!
"I'm good" I said.
"Okay fine" she said.
Shaw sat back down. And looked at the two boys.
"Stop staring at me it's creepy" she said and laughed.
"We're gonna go grab some food from the cafeteria, you sure you don't want anything?" Daniel said.
"No thank you" I said.
They opened the door and walked out.
"Isn't it awkward around them?" I asked "they both like you."
"Not really, I bug them about it." she said.
"Do you like any of them?" I ask.
"Well, things are complicated. I like them both as friends. I don't want any of them getting hurt." she said.
Cash agin the topic she said:
"So how've you been doing?"
"Good I guess, have I really been out for two days?"
"Two in a half to be exact" she said.
A nurse came in.
"Hello, I'm your nurse. You can call me Angela." she said.
"I'll step outside" Diana said and left the room.
I hat hospitals, they creep me out.
"Okay let me examine you" she said.
She checked the bullet wound . I winced.
"Sorry," she said, "we'll keep you here for a couple more days."
"Okay" I said.
She smiled at me and left. Diana came back.
"So..."
"I have to stat here a coupe of days" I said.
"Okay, I'll stay here with you until you get out" she said.
"Would you really do that for me?!" I asked.
"Of course!" she said with a smile and hugged me.
The two guys came in as we hugged. They stopped and stared.
"What's happening here?" Daniel asked with an angry tone.
"I'm just giving him a hug" she said, "Geez stop worrying. "
They stormed out the door.
"Ugh, teenaged boys" she said.
I laughed.
"I better go sort this out" she said. "Be back soon."
She left the room and then it happened. My heart was racing I didn't know why. I looked at the cup Diana gave me.
There was a substance at the bottom of the cup. Poison. I knew this because my dad told me how to identify it. Diana gave me this cup. Why would she do this. I thought she was my friend. No I must survive. Then everything went dark.
