Matthias keeled over the hospital bed. "Why?" he half whispered, half sobbed, voice grainy, drained of emotion.
He was nobody in this world.
If God could even kill his love, how would Matthias ever find reason to live ever again?
The cold hospital floor met Matthias's knees. The metal bed railings were cold to his grip.
Well, first things first.
Jayden was lounging on his sofa bed casually, flicking a Math worksheet back and forth in his high-rise apartment. He glanced down at the Mercedes-Benz he had run Charlotte over with and a crazed grin spread across his face. Victorious, finally...
"What the hell did you do to my girlfriend?" a cold voice behind Jayden, bitter from grief.
Jayden laughed, menacingly. "No matter what you want to think, Matty, what I did was best for you."
"I've lost my purpose in life! You little son of a BITCH!"
"Say, how do you do this Challenge Yourself section in RS4– WOAH THERE!"
Matthias held his revolver to Jayden's head. "What drove you to this insatiable level of madness, Jayden? What changed?"
"What changed?" Jayden scoffed. "You changed. You fell for her. You were being manipulated. Matty, she needed to die, she had to die."
"You're crazy!" Matthias spat out.
Jayden's smile widened. "I can't believe you never saw it in Charlotte, Matty. She's evil, I tell you." Jayden shook his head in disgust.
"YOU'RE BLOODY EVIL!"
A bang resounded in Jayden's high-rise apartment. A genuine Picasso painting rocked back and forth gently beside Jayden's pristine table. Viscous, sticky blood started to pool on RS4's Challenge Yourself section. Well, at least he won't have to worry about handing it in late, Matthias thought as he wiped some blood off his chin. He chuckled wryly.
Jayden gasped for breath, and Matthias jumped back, startled. "Matty..." he whispered, voice coarse. "I was just... trying to... protect you..."
"I don't know what you mean," said Matthias coldly. He raised the revolver again.
"Matt... I once... loved her," gasped Jayden. At that, he coughed up a bit of blood, spattering the worksheet again.
"You loved her too? Then why the hell did you kill her?" Matthias said, a little surprised, a little curious. "Oh, I get it. You were jealous that she chose me instead, weren't you?"
"She's a psychopath, Matt... she's under an ancient curse... she... won't... die..." Jayden gulped for air.
"This is great!" hollered Matthias. He quickly rushed over to the apartment door. "I need to get back to the hospital!"
"No!" Jayden gasped. "Don't do it... don't trust her... I made that mistake..."
"As for you..." Matthias muttered coldly.
Another bang echoed through the high-rise building.
Yifan had been passing by the apartment at that very moment. "I've had just about enough!" he screeched, blue bananas tumbling onto the road beside the sidewalk. "You know what? This life of continuous therapy... I'm ending this."
He stomped inside the high-rise building, ignored the receptionist's calls and went straight for the elevator.
At that very moment, Matthias was humming to himself as the calm elevator music played. His shirt was back-sprayed with blood, a reddish revolver in his tightened grip.
