The mission was almost over. All Jake and I had left to do was escort official X through a busy public conference center to his handlers at the hotel nation's across the river.
While we waited for the conference to end though I video called Dan and Balor, It was just about Balors bedtime so we put him to sleep together.
"Ni ni, Mamamama" Balor babbled closing his eyes as Dan rocked him.

"Night Night, Balor. Sweet dreans" I whispered smiling.

Once Dan had the baby settled in the crib he sat back in the rocker chuckling "Some days Babe."

I stiffled a laugh and mumbled "Was he a naughty boy today?"

"A little after you left, but Today we went to town. Alfie got to see Balor again but some other kids showed their faces." Dan rubbed his face.

I inhaled sharply taking the time to scan the crowd and nod to Jake who was positioned across the large hall from me then breathed "Fucking bully kids. I hope you knocked their heads together."

"Well Boo we were at the Hotel. Gray was keeping an eye on the boys, turned his back for a second. Alfie got shoved and Balor took care of the bully kids." Dan half smiled in an accusing way.

I pulled my sunglasses down and hid my eye roll as a crowd started exiting the conference room, different agents moved from their places to their officials "No town for Balor for a while. I have to go Babe. Listen I love you and I trust you. Tell the Wanderers everything they trained for is about to become clear."

Dan paled jumping up moving through the Cabin hollering "Kig I love you wait!" But I choked back my tears and ended the call tossing my phone under the high backed chair I was seated in as it began ringing again.

As I spotted the official I moved to his left linking elbows with him as Jake stepped to his right "X, can I ask you something?" I said my tone thick and sultry but my eyes were locked on Jake's.

"Of Course Spade." Official X chuckled patting my hand

"Have you ever felt So Alive you knew something was awry." I said cheerily moving the official to a hall that led to a exit farther away.

"Like Now?" Official X asked "We did end early."

"Sir your with the Wanderers for a reason." Jake stated

Something rumbled behind us as glass exploded from the main crowded exit sending the conference center into chaos. I pulled the official into a run as he spoke briskly into his phone "Back Door."

Once Jake and I made the hand off and we watched our official drive off safely with his handlers, Jake linked elbows with me and said "Let's go we're done."

I shoved away from Jake and back into the chaos yelling "No we aren't Jake, We have to get the Agents and officials out."

Jake ran close behind me as my gift reached out to see how we could best handle this incident. Back in the main hall the scene resembled a Pipe bomb had gone off, Agents were shouting for their officials not knowing that our own officials weren't priority.
I jumped up on a table and Demonically shouted "EVERYONE LOOK AT ME. Good! Special Agent Spade Wanderers division I outrank most of you so grab any official or wounded and go out the Back Exit! Now!"
