I woke up in a familiar bed.
My blurry eyes scanned the room before it shot to bedroom door. Dante walked in with just sweatpants hanging dangerously low on his hips.
He kisses me on the forehead before picking me up bridal style.
"Hungry?"
"Very but I can walk you know." I squirmed in his arms.
"Stay." His authoritative voice send chills down my spine.
His looming figure made me feel small like a child. I frowned as I inspected his body. He seems way bigger than I remembered.
"Did you have time to work out?" I gaped poking his bulging muscles.
He looked at me and chuckled.
"My body is adapting to its original form. Sooner you will too."
"Although I think its starting to happen already?" He picked up a lock of my hair.
I shrieked, trying to clamber out out of his arms and towards a mirror.
"I'll take you." His firm grip tightened.
The knot in my stomach turned. Outside of the bedroom, I was not used to his dominance. Which grew even larger ever since he reclaimed me from the cottage.
I squirmed until he put me down with a sigh. Intertwining our hands, he let me twirl around. I gaped trying to get used to my new look.
My blonde hair turning into a dark midnight black. I shifted uncomfortably. Blonde was always my natural hair colour.
Maybe I could dye it back or something. Maybe-
"Beautiful." Dante muzzled into the crook of my neck.
-
I sat on the counter impatiently as Dante finished up cooking the eggs. I tried to help but quickly stopped after a harsh glare was thrown at me.
I hummed as I looked around the open kitchen into the living room. Despite the times I had been here, I never really had time to see how beautiful it was. With floor length windows looming over the city of New York, I was in awe.
I gazed until my eyes settled on a very familiar, very scratched up cat condo.
"Do you have a cat?" I asked confused.
"Its Mr PBJ."
"What is it doing here?"
"You're moving in." He settled a heaping plate in front of me before sitting and pulling me onto his lap.
"What?"
"Yes you belong by my side. Now eat."
I opened my mouth, with my cheeks flaring in embarrassment.
"No need to be shy, my little writer. As your husband, its my job to feed you."
"Not literally." I mumbled.
"What did you say?" He growled, his need for dominance bleeding more and more into my daily lives, not that I minded.
"I said I love you baby." I quickly replied, flashing a cheeky smile.
"And it's Fiancé." I reminded, before yelping in shock.
His eyes turned crimson red as the shadows around him grew big and loomed over us.
"I'm kidding I'm kidding!" I squeaked out hurriedly, before pressing a gentle kiss on his cheek.
He grumbled and continued to feed me. One arm wrapped around me like a vice, the other scooping up some eggs.
I got full fast and snuggled into his warm embrace with a sigh.
-
"ONE SECOND!" I heard Jared yelling from the other side of the door.
"Quinn! Oh- ." Jared stopped in his tracks, his eyes as wide as saucers.
"Hi, I'm here to pick up Mr PBJ." I smiled, trying to ignore the arm that encircled my waist even tighter.
"Yes yes come in." Jared rushed us in.
"I'm Jared and you must be Dante."
"Yes, Pers- Quincy's husband."
"Oh, very nice to meet you." Jared held out a hand which Dante took.
"I thought its Fianc- ." Jared tried not to wince as he took his hand back.
"No no!" I quickly interrupted. "Anyway, where is my baby?"
I quickly darted out from his side as I heard Gillie in the kitchen.
I could almost feel his heated stare on my back and I knew I was going to pay for that later.
I shrieked as I jumped into Gillie's arms.
"I missed you too!" She laughed.
I tried not to sigh as a strong arm wrapped around me and pulled me back.
"You must be the Fianc- ."
"HUSBAND." Jared and I yelled.
"Just the wedding to be held." I laughed nervously.
"Ah yes." She smiled knowingly.
I somehow managed to get Dante to sit down with Gillie and Jared as I searched the whole apartment for Mr PBJ.
I discovered him in a shoe box, shaking himself awake from a nap.
"Did you miss me baby?" I cooed.
Mr PBJ barely glanced at me before continuing to groom himself.
Did he not even care?!
I tried not to feel jaded as I plopped beside Dante. His hands automatically reached out for mine, yanking me closer to his side.
"It's like he did not even realise that I was gone." I rubbed my eyes, annoyed.
"Yeah well, he really liked the company of the other cats." Gillie explained.
A wicked smile slowly spread on my face before I turned to Dante.
"You know, I was thinking that Mr PBJ should get a friend if he is going to be in our lonely apartment all day." I grinned at Dante's horrified looks.
Jared tried not to laugh as Dante scratched his neck awkwardly.
-
"Who else is going to be there?" I asked carefully.
"Just my brothers and sisters. Those who have awakened."
I was nervous. I peered at myself through the mirror. My dark, curly and untamed hair flared down my back. My once sky blue eyes became an enchanting brown ones which glows in the sun. My dark red dress matches his tie.
Regardless of gaining my old memories, I still feel like the little writer from New York.
"My wife, you look breathtaking." Dante kissed my neck before clasping the diamond collar.
Dante told me that there was nothing to be nervous about but I could not stop my hands from turning clammy.
The ride to Mount Olympus was a long one. We stopped at the base of the mountain just to step right into a portal.
As I opened my eyes, my fear turned into wonder as I took in the natural mountain that had a palace built right into it.
Servants that was dressed in the finest robes quickly formed around us, creating a path straight into the castle.
We walked right into the castle and was greeted by a holy sight. The tiles were marble and the pillars of the castle reached as high as the sky. There were many gods and goddesses gathered around cocktail tables made out of crystals and gold.
A luxurious, red carpet was leading up to a huge and impressive throne encrusted with diamonds.
However a melodic voice rang out, jolting me out of my thoughts.
"Hello Uncle."
