You sigh, leaning against the kitchen counter as Jenna wipes down a few dishes.

"Of course, I love our dates and don't want to miss them. I don't want to promise I'll be there and then disappoint you because I couldn't make it," you explain.

She puts away the plate she was wiping and turns to you. "Oh, I'm so sorry, baby, that sounds like a burden."

You resist the urge to roll your eyes. "You're putting words into my mouth. Please don't act like I'm the only one who misses our dates."

She nods, walking over to the couch while you watch her.

"No, you're right. I just have the decency to tell you beforehand so you don't sit in a restaurant for an hour and wait like an idiot," she chuckles bitterly.

"God, Jenna, you make me sound like a problem. Is that what I am to you? Something to put up with?" you run your hands through your hair, taking a deep breath.

She stays silent momentarily, and you nod to yourself, walking upstairs. She gets up from the couch and catches your wrist.

"Baby, please don't go. You know that's not true" She looks at you sadly. Your use of her name and not one of your pet's names scared her.

You take her hand off your wrist gently and shake your head. "I'm too tired for this. I'm going to sleep in the guest room tonight; you'll get a break for me at least," you mumble, walking upstairs.

She doesn't stop you this time. Biting her lip, she walks back to the couch. As soon as she sits down, hot tears escape her eyes.

You grab an oversized t-shirt and shorts and head to the bathroom for a shower. As soon as the water hits your body, you let yourself sob quietly.

Soon enough, you're under the covers in the guest bedroom, scrolling through your phone.

You heard Jenna make her way upstairs and get ready for bed. You assume she's asleep by now.

Tossing your phone beside you on the bed, you close your eyes, trying to get some sleep.

Hours later, Jenna is tossing in bed. She was cuddled into your pillow, the lingering scent of your perfume bringing her little comfort.

She sighs, getting up and getting herself a glass of water.

She quietly goes downstairs, grabbing a glass from the cupboard and pouring herself some water.

She takes a sip, looking towards the front door to find it slightly ajar. She puts the glass down and walks towards it, panicking slightly.

Jenna breathes a sigh of relief when she sees you leaning against the porch railing, your back facing her.

She sees that you're still in your t-shirt and frowns. She quickly grabs the blanket from the couch and makes her way outside.

She steps forward and gently wraps the blanket over your shoulders, leaning on the railing beside you.

"I didn't want you to get cold", Jenna mumbles, looking towards you. You send her a smile, unfolding the blanket and stepping closer to wrap it around you.

She turns her body towards you and hugs you tightly, her arms wrapped around her waist.

You gently wrap one arm around her back, using your other hand to stroke her hair.

You both have your eyes closed, just holding each other closely. You lean your head down to press a kiss on Jenna's forehead.

She feels a few droplets on her cheek, her eyes opening in confusion.

She looks up at you, her eyes meeting yours as she sees tears falling from your own.

"Please find someone better," you say quietly, sniffling.

"What?" she asks in disbelief, gently cupping your face and wiping your tears with her thumbs.

"I mean it. Someone out there will treat you much better than I ever could. You deserve to be treated better," you explain, taking her hands off your face and turning your head, unable to meet her gaze.

"Look at me," she says firmly.

"Jenna, I'm sure-" you start saying.

"Look at me, Y/n", she repeats once, cutting you off.

You look at her once more and see how upset she is.

"You're an absolute idiot for saying that. How dare you decide what's best for me?" she caresses your cheek gently.

"Listen carefully to what I tell you right now. I want you. I only want you. I don't care how difficult things are now; we can work through it. I love you so much, Y/n, so don't you dare suggest that I leave you for someone else"

You wrap your arms around her, leaning in to kiss her lovingly. She practically grips your waist, terrified of having anyone but you in her arms.

"I love you too, baby. I'm sorry for everything, not just tonight," you whisper into her ear.

"I'm sorry too, my love. We're exhausted and end up arguing over little things" She kisses your cheek softly.

"Then why don't we take a trip somewhere? Take a week to relax, recharge, and spend time together," you smile.

She nods, pecking your lips. "Sounds perfect. Now come back to bed; I need my big spoon."

You grin, kissing her forehead before you both walk back inside. "I knew you would admit it at some point."
