Logan's POINT OF VIEW

I cry after reading the first page of her letter. She loved me ever since and I was too ignorant to notice. Honestly, I never got the signs whenever a person liked me or not. Maybe I'm oblivious, but I like it that way. Maybe it's good that I never noticed that she liked me because I have to face Ashley's wrath, but what if I noticed? What will happen? Will be together?

Three months, no news. She's still there, breathing and alive, but not moving. I continuously visit her, checking for news, afraid of what's to come; if she could make it or not. I hear my phone buzz and see a text message from Ashley. I didn't know that I kept her number because I'm clearly sure that I deleted it years ago. Maybe I kept it for emergencies, but if I see her text me anything disrespectful, I'm going to delete her number, again.

I am sorry for hearing Beth die. Condolence to the Stacy family.

I text her a message, feeling enraged.

To: Ashley Fitzgerald

What the fuck are you saying? Your ex-best friend hasn't died, Ashley. It's your fault. She wouldn't be in a coma, if you didn't have an affair with her ex-boyfriend. Tell your boyfriend that he's a fucking dick.

I send and feel the wanting to slap her. She may be my ex-girlfriend, but holy shit, what kind of person send shit saying her friend already died and it looks like she's happy about it.

I'm sorry, okay? Yes, it's my mistake, but Jamie drag me into this because he didn't really love Beth. By the way, it's ex-boyfriend and yes, he's a fucking dick.

I roll my eyes at the message and put my phone on my pocket. I continue to quietly stare at the heart monitor going up and down, beeping. The door opens and I expect it to be Alec or Hadley, but a nurse walks in, giving me a shy smile.

"Is she your girlfriend?" She casually asks, checking her vitals.

"Nope," I reply. "We're just friends."

"Oh, are you sure?" She asks once more, smirking. "You don't have to lie. You can tell me and I won't tell her parents. I know forbidden love is popular these days with her not allowed to date and etc."

"What makes you think that I'm her boyfriend?" I ask in curiosity, happiness sparking up.

"You just stayed here for days; never leaving her. I heard that you haven't slept or eaten with the first few days she's admitted here. Also, the talk of the office is the letter Officer Kelly gave you."

"Oh," I reply, taking in that they've been talking about her in the office. "She's just my best friend, but I think we feel something different."

"Cheesy, but cute," she quietly whispers, but I catch it.

"Nice talking with you," I say, as she heads to the door, done checking her vitals.

"I'm glad that I helped lift that frown away from your face," she says, leaving me practically smiling. Feeling happiness, I get her letter from my wallet and read.
