Frustrated with how little Gally and Marina wanted to include him, Thomas left the quarters as well and returned to his work place where the soldiers gave orders on how to handle the situation. So soon after he got to leave work and instead spend the day with the others, chat and sit around, play games until the evening when they all got send to bed right after dinner while the doctors had a meeting on what to do. At least Dr Paige told them so via another hologram.

Thomas did not believe her, and instead, he hushed out after hours and went searching for Marina and Gally in the hopes of finding a way to help Newt and the others.

***

Rina? Can ya hear me? Gally's voice woke her as Marina turned in her sleep from one side to the other, the image of Newt as he left the canteen and followed the soldier, then dropping off the wall, it did not let her go.

Where are you? Marina slipped out of bed and headed towards the door, but it had been locked from the outside. They locked us in

Us too, I don't know why

Well, then what do we do? Her eyes fell onto her hand from where a light shimmer came. Perplexed, Marina closed her eyes and tried to remember what she had done before, if it had happened and then the memory returned. A content smile on her lips, she walked over to the door, focused on the metal handle and not long after it clicked and clacked, and then the lock inside the door popped, the door swinging open. I got out, where are you?

Pacing from one wall to the other, Gally kept quiet to not wake the other boys in his room. He halted before the door that looked strange. Through the handle he noticed something glow and right after he heard a click and a pop and the door opened. Fast as lightning he jumped forward to prevent it from bashing against the wall as the person behind the door had kicked against it. "How did you do that?" he whispered his arm over Marina's shoulder as she pranced inside, a bright grin on her lips. Upon the sight of the sparks on her hand, Gally shrug. How?

I don't know, but they help. So does this Marina stepped back and stretched out her arms, the eyes on Gally as she stood still in the middle of the hall. Out of nowhere blue and silver lines appeared on her body and streamed from her head along her arms and shoulders over her stomach to her feet. She smiled at the beautiful lights, but then halted and stared at her chest. From somewhere below her line of view came a purple light, soft and warm as it felt against her skin, but she could not make out where it originated. Now let's go

Taking the lead, Gally grabbed Marina's hand and guided her around some guards that patrolled several off the hallways around the children's quarters. heads down, he gestured her to walk into a small room while a guard walked past and when he had gone, they hurried across the next hallway towards a flight of stairs that led to another corridor and heavy doors. Now what?

Focus Marina said as she let go of Gally's hand, blowing against the red skin on her palm. You are getting hot

Curious and frightened at the same time, Gally glared at his hand, inspected the fingers and then pressed his hand against the door, it grew bright red and hissed the longer he touched it until at last the metal liquefied and run to the ground to leave a cooling puddle of metal behind. Watching as the warmth, the redness of his skin vanished, Gally held out his hand for Marina to take as he stepped through the hole.

She reached out to take him up on his offer when an alarm sounded and a bunch of soldiers came running the corridor, their flashlights and guns pointed at Marina. A shiver ran down her spine as she grabbed Gally's hand, jumped through the hole and ran along the next hallway, dodging some projectiles and sprinting down another flight of stairs through doors that fell of the hinges when she used her powers to press against them. On impact of the doors, Marina stumbled and fell to the ground, her eyes on the soldiers that chased after them.

Stay with me, Rina. Hey, stay with me! Gally yelled out in her head as he hurried back, helper her on her feet and pushed her through another door into a giant room where at either side, they spotted several rows of tanks that had floating objects in them, but in the milky liquid they could not make out what they were. Just some metal legs that tocked against the glass when they came into motion. Rina, stay close, ya hear me?

Gally, what are those? Marina watched as one of the creatures floated to the glass, the red blinking spot on its highest point. She could not tell whether it had a head or just a body, but each of them had metal arms or legs sticking out of a amorphous body that looked as if a booger had been dunked in milk and then dropped into oil.

Intrigued by the creatures, she walked through the rows that stopped at a massive tank with a blob inside that had multiple red lights blinking on it. She recalled having seen one of those before, but not where. And when Marina turned around so ask Gally, she could no longer see him. Gally?

Run, they're comin' His arms waving at her, Gally dashed through the room, away from a door that flew open to reveal several soldiers behind, their weapons pointed at Marina, who hid behind one of the tanks, ducking away as a man ran past her.

On the other side of the room, Gally hid behind a tank as well, his heart beating so loud, he feared the soldiers might hear it even without telepathy. As the soldier walked around the tank, Gally grabbed the gun, bashed it against the man's head and hurried across the room, the gun shooting at the open door from where more soldiers stormed inside. At last, he slid over the ground to dodge a projectile, jumped up and around a tank and grabbed Marina by the hand, who sat on the ground, her eyes closed. Listen to me, run! Run, Rina, run!

Through a side door, down another corridor and past several rooms they ran, soldiers that patrolled the level came after them as they notice the figures running in the dark, and soon more soldiers joined them, yelling out and clocking their guns, the projectiles flying through the air, hitting glass. All around Gally and Marina glass shattered and covered the ground.

Marina flinched when a shard of glass brushed against her cheek, but she kept running, Gally's hand clenched tight in fear of losing him. She spun around to see what had happened but in that moment, someone grabbed her and threw her to the ground, the weight of their body pressing against hers. The fingers cracking as she let go of Gally, Marina rang for air and pressed against the man on top of her, who yelled out for the others to assist him.

At the end of the hallway, another door opened, she watched as Gally spun around, C'mon, they'll be here any moment, his face turning pale when he noticed her gone behind him.

Gally, run! Marina coughed as the men dragged her from the ground and along the hallway, and while she watched Gally dash in her direction, she closed her eyes and let the pulsating sensation that came from her chest take over.

A bright purple light illuminated the hallway and let the soldiers drop her to the ground to shield their eyes. In the next moment, Marina had disappeared and only the soldiers and at the end of the hallway, Gally, remained, now in darkness as the flash lights had cracked and no longer worked.
