Fighting against the men that carried him into the room, Stephen jumped up as soon as they dropped him to the ground.
"Stephen, please have a seat" Dr Paige turned in her chair, the monitor next to her turned on to show him the last footage of the cocoons as well as the moment they evolved from the liquid they had been. "Have a look at this" she gestured at the monitor and Stephen's eyes grew at the sight of Lucy and the other boy strapped to tables, tortures with syringes and finally when the tanks overflowed and covered the two children in lava like thick liquid that solidified. "I am showing you this because I believe you can help us. I know you like Lucy, and you want her to be save, but right now she is in danger" The footage from before the cameras fell out plays on the second monitor and Dr Paige shows how the cocoon sucked in Jack as well.
"What should I do? I don't know how to cool them" Stephen shifted in his seat at the sight of the lava covering Lucy's body. At least he knew she was alive. Lucy?
Stephen?
Holding his breath, Stephen looked at Dr Paige as she spoke, but his mind has taken another turn and his feeling urged him to leave the room. Are you save?
Are you?
I am with Dr Paige, she wants me to get you out of that cocoon. Stephen nodded along to Dr Paige waving her hands through the air, pointing at the monitor and smiling at him as she rose from her seat and walked around the office. What can I do? Where are you?
In few words Lucy explained what they had encountered inside the cocoons, but her heart skipped a beat when she heard how long she had been missing. So now what?
"-which is why I ask you to help us, to help Lucy, and Jack. Do you agree? Stephen?" Ava Paige stepped next to Stephen and placed her hand onto his shoulder. "Are you still with me?" The eyes wandering to the monitor Stephen still stared at, she smiled. "I know it is scary, but you have greater powers than you know and right now we need you to use them"
"I cannot help you, I don't know how" Stephen said in a calm tone, his eyes on Dr Paige as she leant closer. "You lied about Lucy, you made us think she was dead. I will not help you"
A calm smile on her lips, Dr Paige stepped over to her desk and had a seat. "I feared you might react this way, then Stephen, I am sorry for this" At the push of a button, two soldiers walked inside, grabbed Stephen and dragged him into a room that Luke had known all to well about. They strapped him to a table, placed electrodes on his head and injected him with something that made his body tingly, then heat up and at last his muscles began to twitch.
After several rounds of injections, the soldiers dropped him into a tank that filled with liquid. All the while Dr Wilson watched the EEG and kept an eye on Stephen's vitals. It took a lot longer than expected, but at last Dr Wilson stepped into Dr Paige's office and smiled. "May I present, Thomas" he waved and the young boy walked past him into the office, the black hair shortened, the uniform fitted to his size.
With a pleased smile, Dr Paige gestured to the chair in front of her desk and showed Thomas the images of Lucy and Aris on the tables, and the video. "We need you to help us, can you do that, Thomas?"
"Yes"
